Men of War: Developers update 24

In this weeks developers update we will talk about the multiplayer game concept which was built up. The basis is a complete and detailed analysis of the proportion of the WWII military powers.

The game won't be a full-value combat simulator but we tried to reconstruct the battle on the screen as realistically as the game engine allows it.

Nations gained their individuality according to the realities of the WWII. That means that every nation in the game has its own strong and poor sides, and the balance is not reached by a contraposition of similar fighting units but by the relation "price/efficiency". At the same time, the game principle "stone, scissors, paper" is retained in order to exclude the absolute superiority of game units.

Some changes touched upon the tactics of combating. We tried to retain the general dynamics but, at the same time, to make it possible for a player to analyze the situation on the screen and to plan his actions correctly. The time of a game round is divided into stages and gives more space for tactical thinking and for inventing new game tactics. The mode of permanent reinforcements has undergone serious changes which will allow to create very dynamical battles. All these, added with new commands (what they are will be told a bit later), makes the strategy so realistic that a player will be able to use his knowledge in history for increasing his game efficiency.
