Youtube has some, but for the complete series try a torrent meta search and you should find them.... or amazon.com if you want to buy the series...
The version of Killer Tanks i found initially was in russian language, after more searching i found the english version..
Discovery / History Channel aired the english language series that I am now watching.... Try their web site also.... - They may have a digital download of previously aired shows...
I have a new found admiration and appreciation of Soviet WW2 tanks, especially the KV-1 & KV-2... The episode on them is extremely detailed....

I downloaded them from the pirate bay.
There was 2 more torrents but I took the one with the most seeders.
It´s not many seeders tough, so it might take a while to download.

Watched all (or nearly all) of these on Youtube and they were great.
Its really interesting to learn exactly what events and requirements guided the evolution of German vehicles and artillery.

Yes, I agree - Thats the reason i started this thread - to inform other liked minded people about good ww2 docos and every once in a while i discover a new one i hadn't seen so i let all you people know about it.... So others can enjoy these doco's also.....
Most unfortunately are hard to find but perseverance often pays out with torrent meta search engines.....
Any i download i rescale to 720x404 to watch on a 50' plasma and 720x404 is the closest i have found to full screen....
I highly recommend WinX Video Converter deluxe for converting videos to all formats....
The best doco i have seen specialising in tanks is:
The Evolution of a Legend 1939 - 1945 TANKS
I am lucky enough to have the 4 DVD's in the series = 16 episodes on tanks of ww2.
DVD Volume 2 for example is
Sturmgeschutze & Panzer Jaeger
Sturmartillerie
The Fall of France
Blitzkrieg
Its a awesome series but relies heavily on CGI which not everyone will like, but it still is worth watching because real tanks in tank museums are shown + a lot of ww2 b&w footage is used where available....
One episode i regularly watch for inspiration is about tank ace Michael Vitman and his gunner bobby voll. ( I am sure fans of ww2 will know Michael vitmans name )
It covers Vitmans whole military career, from scout cars, to stugs, to panzer4's and eventually the Tiger.... ( it covers his death too which was unfortunate for the world to loose such a gifted man - it was said he had an uncanny sixth sense for knowing where anti tanks guns were hidden, even at night in ambush and he valued a AT gun kill more highly than tanks because AT guns were the devils work in his opinion )
Best episode of the series IMHO......
PS: Most of The Evolution of a Legend is available using torrent meta search engines.Last edited by Mopar; 30-04-2012 at 10:22.

Excellent Documentary Series on Guns
Hi All,
For research into WW2 weapons and to improve my mods i have been watching an excellent series called "Tales Of The Gun"...
I highly recommend this series for anyone interested in firearms and I imagine it would be required watching for gunsmiths or firearms historians or just anyone interested in firearms in general + the military of course...
I was lucky enough to borrow the Boxed DVD set from a mate who is retired military and he highly recommended the series and said many of his military mates had the series also....
Episode List:

Tales of the Gun - 38 - Million Dollar Guns
The episodes i found most interesting so far have been the episodes on mauzer, luger, German small arms of WW2 ( pistols, rifles, smg, & mg's ), Naval Guns, Guns of WW2....
Just thought i'd share this info for anyone who is also interested in the history and evolution / development of firearms...
Recurring quote from the series:
The gun has played a critical role in history. An invention which has been praised and denounced... Served hero and villain alike.... And carries with it moral responsibility..
" To understand the gun is to better understand history "

Mopar

Not extremely in-detail, but are very interesting and cinematographic to watch.
