Spawn killing
What do you think about spawn killing in AS? I know that spawn killing is not a highly respected thing in many games. So how do you feel about somebody who fought all his way to your spawn and effectively cut off your reinforcements? Strangely, I found it a lot easier to achieve right now because of the middle game changes and the fact that many players still prefer to bank for heavier stuff and don’t use infantry and early infantry support units effectively and allow themselves to be overrun by my infantry.
Now there is a question of map sizes too. Some maps are so short that the spawn is very near that first home flag, meaning that after losing the home flag the spawn is immediately put in danger as well.
My opinion is that it is ok to do it unless you play against a noob who would like to learn something, but even noobs needs to know that they can’t just bank for things without any consequences. If somebody kills me in my spawn, I treat it as a crushing defeat and I admit defeat coz they managed to cut off my reinforcements but I never complain about it. And I actually like this idea coz only then I feel that I completely won by taking control of all the map, not just by camping around flags and scoring points. The only thing I wish for is a surrender button to quickly finish the game instead of waiting till we have 100 points.

I agree. It is of course not very fun to get spawnkilled, but I don't think that you can expect the other player to let you be if you have been pushed back that far.

As a general rule of thumb I generally stop at their last flag and don't go any further. However if it was a ranked game perhaps I'd push further but I rarely find it necessary.

Fighting blinking units is stupid!

Totally ruins the fun when someone stays at the spawn point and kill the enemy as soon as he has spawns. When people do this, it is totally OK in my opinion to simply drop the game and let the spawn killer(s) play with themselves.

I know that fighting blinking immortals is stupid. But the game is based on the reinforcement system: you cut off the reinforcements, you win. In FPS games, spawn killing is a cheesy way of scoring kills coz those who do it just sneak and camp around the spawn area. In AS, on the other hand, I need to fight all the way to the enemy spawn and I need to defeat them in the middle first and then later near their home flag before I seal the victory by going for their spawn. The enemy is virtually crushed anyway. When I do it, I say that I won and I am ready to accept their surrender coz any resistance would be pointless. That's why a surrender button would be useful.
And yes, Zeke, it is better to close the game and start another one so that we don't waste time fighting a lost battle but we can start a new one in which everyone will have another chance to win.

Well, I do play to have FUN not to win as many battles as possible. That´s why I personally like to let them spawn in peace and be able to come back into the game. But as I said, this is my opinion.

I play for fun too, that's why I never play ranked games. But I prefer offensive tactics, I almost never build sandbags. For me defending is not fun. I don't really know what to do after taking the enemy homeflag. I help my teammates, but then I noticed many times that I let the enemy bank for some heavy stuff which almost cost me a game. It is a tactical mistake to stop the momentum and wait for the enemy to recover. Like in this game,

Thomson could take Baloo's spawn and Baloo would never have been able to bank for IS2 which cost so much trouble to Thompson and nearly cost them the game which they deserved to win. I had plenty of similar situations before and that's why I decided to go all the way and never stop. For me, it is more fun to win or lose quickly and play another game, rather than having to wait for the enemy to bank for some heavy stuff so that they can have a come back. I want action and waiting for me is no fun.

I think the problem here is, that you don't even have to push him back into his spawn to start something like this. In the beginning of the game we sometimes (we don't try it everytimes, just when we feel like it, successrate ca 90%) manage to get one or two men behind the enemy spawn to spy on what he buys. So who says that the men couldn't have something woth them to destroy valuable stuff. We don't do this of course, because i for myself don't like to get my stuff raped as soon as i buy it.

We´re not discussing IF the enemy is just sitting on his ass and waiting to bank "money" to be able to buy heavy tanks - we´re talking about pressing them back to their spawn point and then sit and wait and kill whatever they buy as soon as they spawn it - this is simply not my kind of game. Don´t change the subject please.
Contrary to you, I can have loads of fun trying to defend a captured flag/position.
