    Motorbike Rush

Now if there is one thing I hate in this game it's the Motorbike or Jeep rush at the start of the game. If things go badly you can lose your whole squad in the first few seconds! Now some players use this almost every start and I was getting sick of it!

The Pros of a Motorbike/Jeep is its manoeuvrability and the accurate machine gun fire. The Cons of the Motorbike/Jeep is how fragile both the machinery and the crew are. So like in all things Men of War, how do you nullify the pros of the Bike/Jeep while taking advantage of the weaknesses?

I personally at the start of the game split my first Regular Squad into 3 small units. One has the machine gunner and the other two a mix of smgs and rifles. When you arrive at your first point in assualt zones a good idea is to put the machine gunner just behind the point with your two other squads flanking around the sides of the point in cover.

If you hear the Motorbike closing in, do not stress for it is about to fall into your trap! If all your men are in cover tell them to HOLD FIRE and wait for the motorbike to come right into your killing zone. When the bike is in the right place for your soldiers to hit it from all corners at once open fire and watch how the two crew members will be blown away (if you're lucky you can steal the bike for the accurate machine gun fire!).

The key to this is fire discipline. There is a reason that there is a hold fire key and it should be used more often. Ambushes with this tactic also work very well!

    1. Listen for cheesey rush at round start.
    2. Don't clump
    3. Isolate LMG and get it behind hard cover
    4. Use direct control on LMG.
    5. Enjoy a fresh bike.

Also any sort of fast halftrack open will destroy bike or kubel play even if you destroy half a squad.

Yeah that's the basic of it all. Though the problem is if you open fire too early the bike can get away or just hang back and get in a duel with your mg. You dont want that, the bike can't see your guys if you hold fire and then he blindly leads himself into an area where he can't do much damage!

A lot of it depends on the map and what the timing allows for. If you're just going for bushes to save you if the dude is watching the fog he can just zap your inf at around max range. If you're brits or ruskie you've got enough LMG power to destroy the guys on the bike. If this is being done against a USA that can use any sort of metal well then I reckon the german player just signed a death wish.

Bike is really not even a minor problem, the gunner and rider are extremely easy and quick to knock off with a MG in DC or even without DC. Now jeep is a bit of a bigger problem, and it's true that if you open fire at it as it is an unfavourable position it is not the best scenario for you. Generally, though, the jeep buggering off or not managing to kill more than a couple of dudes is as good as the men in it dying. You basically don't want it effectively firing at you, that's all. Afterwards you can just call in a halftrack and mop it up for good.

The basic idea is to keep your men alive and, if opportunity presents itself, uncrew the bike/jeep and use it against the considerably weaker enemy infantry component.

You have to consider that for a bike to pay off in terms of MP, it has to take out either your machine gunner or your squad sans the machine gunner. For jeep to pay off, it needs to take out your machine gunner and your squad. You might think, but they have the centre so surely even if it didn't pay off, it gave them the advantage - no. It's not getting them any payback until it's destroyed and until that time the significant investment is stuck in it, and seeing as it's more or less an easy to decrew MG position if the enemy knows about it...

I've noticed that currently a lot of players do this initial buy: jeep -> infantryman or two (optional) -> flak38/PKP, they go secure their point or mid with jeep and minimal infantry and then set up the Flak38 and PKP. This does work well against players who aren't experienced or eager to check out what the enemy has on every flank. Every single time I encountered this strategy on a flank as opposed to part of a double team mid, I managed to set myself up on the enemy home flag and use his flak/pkp + jeep to defend it. Because regular infantry squad beats or forces jeep to leave its position every time unless the squad is in the open or enemy is double-teaming the point (eg infantry squad and jeep).

It really comes down to DC'ing your LMG. Aim for the gunner, spray and pray... soon you will have another LMG to use

Even losing 6 or 7 guys is ok, as long as you steal their gun or vehicle... cheesy? Ya, but effectively countered? Ya.

Stick with it, you will easily counter them the more you see it!

If you kill the crew, and steal the bike/jeep, do the enemy get payback for it, or do they get it when it's totally destroyed?

If so, if you manage to take it, you get a win - win, you get a free mg/jeep, (take out the mg, park the jeep far behind) and you rob them of 100 ish mp in payback, that can help in the early game.

(Do you guys understand the word "ish" or is it something that only I use?)

Just last night some guy tried to rush me with a kubel, I waited untill he was so close the little men on the screen could touch the wheel! I ended up taking the jeep for no losses and then taking his point with the full squad and the extra jeep!
