Whoever is having that paradrop crash error, try playing through single player skirmish menu because if that error only occurs through multiplayer coop then its related to engine spitting random once it reaches certain limits, I had this situation happen in the past, whoever had the problem with that crash like that try skirmish single player mode or lower texture quality if played through coop and see if you still crash.

I had the paradrop crash problem when working on Neverending battles, a minor fix for this was to lower the texture settings in Options. I also worked my way through it by keeping entity amounts low in missions and maps. However it can crash for alot of reasons, but its probably hardware related.

The thing is this paradrop crash would not happen in single player skirmish only mp at higher texture quality thats how u know whether its engine limitation, reason I know this is one of those things engine pulls out of its "butt" when it hits some limits is that when I could reproduce this in certain mission in mp at higher texture settings is when i removed that entity from game then it would spit out error with something else but same kind.

The thing is there is some kind of combination of entities on map interacting that can cause this bug, cause I had a map done called safi port it was pretty map with all kind of docks and stuff it would work great in editor, single player but in coop it would crash out with such errors either right away or few min into game, lowering textures would fix it but I never released it as I could never solve the issue, I even removed half the map and it would still happen just later into the game, and mission script did not cause the crash cause I reused the script on road to safi map and that works fine, so something in the map itself maybe all the complicated terrain + aligned entities were causing engine simply crap out in multiplayer coop+higher texture. Its very strange and sad at same time.

Yes it is sad because now I have to remove france from my mappack because I don't want people spend hours on playing a map that will crash... :/

Hi Sir Hinkel, Check for crate6 and crate7 entities, I remember the devs removed them some time ago because they were buggy and recently they were put back in a recent patch.... ( i felt it worth mentioning just in case your problem might be related to crate6 or crate7 )... i'm probably wrong but its worth looking just in case.....

I would wait for whoever had the crash to verify it was only cause they were playing through multiplayer/coop. If they crashed in skirmish single player then have them send you latest save game before the crash happened because that would be odd for it to crash that way in skirmish single player mode. I wish there was a way to force so that mission only shows up in skirmish single player menu and not coop that way one cuold release sp only maps and not worry about someone trying them in coop.
Further, regarding france I have played that map although in older patch/version in both non gsm and gsm with about 6-7 players and we played for at least hour+ without problems, so maybe there is some kind of special case here and not general crashing.Last edited by djsatane; 04-08-2012 at 11:15.
