Re: Identify vehicles from WW2
Yes it is a BT-42, though armed with a QF 4.5 inch (114mm) WW1 British howitzer.

Re: Identify vehicles from WW2
In fact it's not the hakenkreuz.
In 1918, the Swedish count von Rosen gave Finland an aircraft which was the Finnish air force's first aircraft. It was marked with the blue swastika seen on WW2-era Finnish tanks and planes, which was von Rosen's good luck symbol. The Finnish air force adopted the mark as their insignia and it's still used in the president's flag and the flying school flag and so on.
The German swastika is standing on one of it's legs, while the swastika Finns used is like this:

Re: Identify vehicles from WW2
there are swastikas everywhere, mainly muslim, greek and sometimes asian artifacts/buildings.
but that tank uses a black swastika when the finnish is blue.
A classic but rare and most ppl wouldn't know it

Re: Identify vehicles from WW2
The swastikas Finns used on the tanks were indeed black, but they had their legs cut. http://www.kiitotie.net/wp-content/gall ... 12_VL2.jpg
And the tank in your picture is probably Char B1 bis.

Re: Identify vehicles from WW2
well done, i made a modle of 1 ages ago and i was amazed at its size and its long use in the french military
there were still units using the B1 Bis right up till the surrender of france.
now this is trickier: "only true tank historians would know this":

This is a little easier than the other but still very hard:

I know that these vehicles arnt exactly inline with this topic but i wanted to make sure every1 knew their history. The bullet is an idiot, the bayonet is a fine fellow.-URA!!!!
