I personally do not use it, but all it is is a mobile field gun. Just keep it at max range and save it for infantry support.

A pretty ineffective one, but one that can withstand heavy artillery shelling. So maybe it can be regarded as a counter to enemy artillery, even when an quite ineffective one (low arch). It's still unsuitable for its intended role.. but I guess DMS knows about it and will take another look at it anyway.

Stuh 42 could be used as antyspam unit. It's good to buy nebelwerfer and Stuh 42 - in this order, because it's like 11 hero points - both units cost 5 HP, but Stuh 42 will take 6 if you buy it first.

Personally I use it as a short range unit against infantry spam together with nebelwerfer. It's difficult to hit something from it on longer distance but against infantry it's a good idea. Also 10 APCR shells are useful against side armours of some US tanks.

I'd also vote for more accuracy and a higher speed of close to 40km/h. Its speed was what had set it apart, and could also give it more flexibility ingame, to storm positions or get into cover quickly. It's a "Sturm-Haubitze" (Storm-Howitzer) after all.

Then again nearly all german tanks in ww2 had a speed of nearly 40km/h. Ingame it should at least be as fast as the stug.

All early tanks, at least. I think an accuracy boost would be a good idea. But keep in mind, the Stuh42 is more for taking out enemy fortifications and gun emplacements.

That's why I would like a little more accuracy. Took me 4 shoots to hit a MG emplacement at 3/4 range

Yep, it is a common misconception that german tanks like the Tiger were slow. The Tiger actually went 38km/h which is why it was so dangerous. On soft ground it would still go very fast compared to us/brit tanks due to its large m²/ton on the tracks. Compare that to the Sherman with a max speed of 40km/h. Hence the Tiger's speed in battle matched the Sherman's.
The Sherman could go almost 200km on the road without refuelling, while the Tiger got thirsty after half of that. This is where the wrong interpretation of "speed" may come from. I'd love to see the Tiger go up to 30km/h ingame, but only having half of the fuel it has now. But that is dreams and should be ditched because of balance.

The early german tanks, PzKfw1 to 4 as well as the StuG III and StuH 42 were those of the blitz-generation and masters of speed and reliability, especially the StuG III which was the most comman german tracked vehicle built in the war. They constantly outmaneuvered and suprised russian T-34 divisions which is why they were so successful in going eastwards.

Anyway, I think they should really increase accuracy of the StuH, and maybe up the speed of the StuG and StuH to >32.
