SAS Jeep Request
I'm looking for someone that's able to attach new weapons to a vehicle and make someone man it. I'm trying to make an SAS jeep my modifiying the british willys jeep to be now armed with a .50 cal instead of a .30 cal, dual vickers kvgo for the passenger, dual vickers kvgo mounted at the very back, and one vickers kvgo for the driver. The driver wuld be able to shoot his vickers kvgo while driving, like the driver in a tank can shoot the hull mg while driving alone. I made this in the editor to example what it should resemble.

The gas cans are purely astetic. I can harly model a gun in Milkshape, let alone a vehicle.http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/9929/thesoldier3.png

Yes, any help is great! I was thinking of proposing this idea to cat after it's finished. Along with a a few more items attached to the jeep. And if your photo, how did you attach the vickers kvgo? And the hats the men are pretty nice. And what kind of backpack are they wearing?

Re: SAS Jeep Request
Hey , I managed to get the willies with the passenger gun from a really old fow mod done by Jozor. As for the rest of the work that's just alot if time and work. Would be great if someone who knew how could add some fuel cans and chop off the windscreen on the jeep. Make it a little more historically accurate. I been trying to do that for Eva but with not the greatest luck .. Peace

Re: SAS Jeep Request
I thinkI know how to add fuel cans. I've done enough bayonets.
It's adding the guns I'm having problems with. But thanks!

Re: SAS Jeep Request
@Ugenetodd, have you tried editing the glass.ply out of the .mdl file? if it just removes the glass and leaves the frame, then its a part of the body.ply, which you'll then have to make the jeep from scratch.
@The Soldier, you need to add an mg attach bone for the mg's, the first mg uses its own foresight, anymore than that and you'll need to add the mg and the foresight that it will use, which is hard if editing the .mdl file alone.

Re: SAS Jeep Request
You can do it yourself, it's actually quite easy to do if you apply yourself. You do not really need to create any new models, as all the models exist in the game already as well as the equipment (jerry cans, boxs, ammo and whatever else).
All you have to do is first extract the e1 folder under resource/entities, find the jeeps folder you want, then add it to a mods folder so you can start tweeking. All the weapon models you need already exist, you just have to copy them into the new jeeps folder. Once all the models and textures are there first rename the jeep.mdl and jeep.def to sasjeep.mdl, sasjeep.def or what ever you want. Edit the model file and attach turrets to the right bones of the jeep (so they are applied and move from the right spot). Then update the .def file to include the new weapons (weapons are defined by the name given at {parameters "ID=turret;"} and the 'foresight#')
Reply back here if you run into any problems, and this small guide is probably one of the best helps you can find. http://www.digitalmindsoft.eu/forums...hp?f=80&t=7251
This is an older post where I was working on modifying units, it might help you to read it.

Re: SAS Jeep Request
I would rather remodel the vehicle, than spend nightmare hours editing a .mdl file to add many things with precision, 1 mg would be easy as you can try from another vehicle. Also the info you have written down is a bit misleading in a way.

Re: SAS Jeep Request
Meh. I find anything other than modeling is a whole lot easier for me. Would I really model a whole new gun just to attach a bayonet? No. Anyway, back to the point, it helped me for the first MG, but the rest is confusing for me. I'll get to posting a pic sometime.
