    [MOW:AS] Red Tide & Vanilla Units Pack V0.5 (20 January)

    What this mod does: Adds all (? I think/hope...) units from Vanilla MOW & Red Tide and makes them available in the editor for mission makers to use in future Assault Squad missions.

    What this mod does not do: anything else.

    So by default it is SP/coop compatible.

    Should have all the vehicles from the prior two, plus all the infantry units that didn't have a direct counterpart already in Assault Squad. (Red Tide's gaggle of Soviet naval troops, Italian & Romainans, and the Winter units from MOW).

    All added infantry are in the editor under Human\Single. This is just to keep them separate from the stock infantry. Their stats were all changed to be in line with AS units, more or less. (Not like vanilla MOW where single & MP units had drastic differences in vision, equipment, etc).

    Suggest saving often if using this mod in the editor. While I tried to be thorough checking for any data errors (IE CTDs) I may have missed something. Also new official game patches can potentially create CTD issues before a mod has in turn been updated for that patch. Saving takes 5 seconds, while losing an hour of work will make you ang:

    Huge thanks to Fonzie for doing the Red Tide pack with stock MOW. He had the needed RT files already separated in that pack, I just added the Vanilla units and did the required data updates to work in AS.

    To install: If you've installed a previous version, to be safe, delete it. There won't be any update for prior versions, only this full download.

    Unpack the archive, and place the "Red Tide" folder into your games Mod folder. Activate from within the game.

    ***v 0.5available here (20 Jan 2012): To install Delete old mods\Red Tide folder if you have a previous version. Unpack this download and copy the "Red Tide" folder inside to your "Men of War Assault Squad\mods" folder. Launch game and activate the mod, new units will now be available in the editor.

    *Localization fix, if you downloaded on the 20th and get an error on launch showing squad names, this will correct it. That broken version was only up for a few hours, but at least a couple downloads were made. The version linked above is already corrected, this fix is not needed with it. Just putting it here if anyone had the bad one so they can avoid the 200meg download. Just unpack it and paste the Red Tide folder over the existing one, overwrite the localization files when prompted.

    The way the mod is set up, you need to edit the mod.info file to:
    Code:
    {mod
    	{name "Red Tide"}
    	{desc "All units from Red Tide & Vanilla MOW added to Assault Squad"}
    }
    Otherwise, it will give you an error about the mod name being wrong.
    Other than that, good job, and you saved a lot of time for a lot of people.

    Good job!!!, only thing I noticed is the texture problem on the T-29 and M4A2 (76W).

    Thanks. I had reuploaded when I found a few more junk files & changed the name & desc to mention the vanilla units, but... forgot to rename the folder. Reuploading, will update link when it's done. Left name as Red Tide for simplicity for the handful who already downloaded before that change.

    *naming issue fixed

    Texture issue on the M4a2 76W & T-29 tanks fixed.

    Unpack and copy the Red Tide folder from the update on top of the existing MOW:AS\Mods\Red Tide folder.

    *link removed, newer version available on first post
    ....

    Updated again. Made Sherman DD amphibious & added a duplicate (M4A3dw) to retain a non-amphibious model as well.

    Re: [MOW:AS] Red Tide & Vanilla Units Pack

    Experience an error when trying to use this mod;

    The error is a 'define not found' error relating to "set/stuff/gun/105mm_t5e2" on line 12, 13, 14 '("accuracy_veryhigh"<<) ("overmatch_100mm") }'

    Any ideas?

    Re: [MOW:AS] Red Tide & Vanilla Units Pack

    Hey I've tried changing it to accuracy_high and deleting overmatch_100mm, but it just comes up with a new exception regarding the 180mm gun:

    define not found (esdlreader.cpp, 326)
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
    >> main
    > file "/set/stuff/gun/180mm_gun"

    5. ("heavy_howitzer"<<)
    6. {range 300 450}
    7. {RecoveryTime 2}
    8. {RechargeTime 14}
    9. ("speed" s(920))

    Men of War: Assault Squad - v1.85.3 - standard
    2011.04.19 18:22 - 0x00000000
    I'm guessing there are some bugs to still iron out... was this mod working before the latest changes? If yes, can someone post a link to a previous working version?

    Re: [MOW:AS] Red Tide & Vanilla Units Pack

    Checked, some of the predefined sets were changed with the patches, hadn't had the chance to try the latest patch yet. I'll get a quick fix up tonight if I can.

    *Update added. Included in OP, here too for simplicity: *link to old version removed*

    Copy/paste the Red Tide folder in this archive on top of the existing one in your mods folder.

    It now isn't spitting out errors. Will try and go through more in depth over the weekend to make sure none of the attributes are out of whack with these new/changed data presets, like tank guns firing howitzer burst mode or anything.
