Well, I never liked it, to begin with, anyway: SU is not Japan to rely on prototypes and extremely rare units - there were more than enough wide-spread effective units in use, and BM-8, in my opinion, is just a cumbersome way to go around the poor implementation of Katiusha. If anything, I would prefer that latter fixed, and some other hero unit, even with mediocre capabilities, added.
But then again - that's just me, and I am by no means the Game developer.

Gamekiller9 already given the same advice just 4 posts above yours...
Anyhow the BM-8-24 problem was that it was too cheap. Being able to buy two of them was a part of the problem of that cheapness.Infantry guide: http://digitalmindsoft.eu/forums/sho...-your-Infantry

Come on... if you are playing against poor players you were able to buy 2. When you were playing against better players, buying 2 was impossible - the point was to buy BS-3 or infantry and then Bm-8. Increasing it's price won't change that because hopefully you can still buy those 2 units (BM-8 and BS-3).
In that case you won't buy Katyusha, and will wait for IS-2. Increase price of KV-85, IS-1 and IS-2 and of course IS-3 and there are no problems with balance. Personally I'm not waiting for any heavier unit then T-34-85 but it's me. If you give players ability to do so - cheap T-34-85 and BS-3 plus BM-8 instead of IS-2 and stuff, it will make game more interesting. Less heavy tank spam, less fortification spam etc.
Some time ago some players were here against emplacements. Now Soviets got ideal unit against such stuff and we have players against anti-emplacements units.
It's ridiculous.... Is there any solution to solve such problems?!>>> MoW-Center.pl <<< Polskie Community Men of War

Of course not, we like to complain far too much.
Emplacements against artillery is a very delicate balance.Infantry guide: http://digitalmindsoft.eu/forums/sho...-your-Infantry

Well forgot emplacements...
Can someone confirm that KW-1 after this fix can be easily destroyed on 170/175 m from Nashorn? One shot in front armor. I thought it was bugged, but it seems that now it's "repaired"... And IS-2 on 160/170 also in front armor with one shot. Today I played first full game with this fix and I must say that soviet tanks seams to be weaker - all medium and heavy.>>> MoW-Center.pl <<< Polskie Community Men of War

Umm disagree. Atleast I haven't spotted any changes at all.
Odd to see next to zero discussion about the recent 2.05.14 patching. It's still clearly in beta-phase, but I guess this is the moment the changes can actually be affected.
Nice changes on the Soviets
-BM-8 5HP -> 6HP This was very important. The current prize feels kinda right, the later arrival being just as important as the higher prize. The CP seems lazy tho: light tank, anyone...?
-KV-1 525MP-> 550MP It might be near the right spot now. It's still something considering it'll propably be the first tank to get. I've seen more early T-34-57:s lately.
-IS-2 1500->1600 Finally the justice has happened. Judging how it can fight fight the Jagd I'd say the balance is quite perfect now.
-Also the 203mm can't move during barrage/reloading (not sure when it was changed). A splendid way to tone it down.
-KV-85 900MP->950MP I guess it's here to say then. Considering the other nerfs the prize seems to be kinda right then. The real shame is how it overshadows the much more interesting T-34-series.
-SU-122 1000->900MP Nice, I see much potential in this unit. Also the rest of the SU-series could need some tweaks...
-Greyhound 280MP->260MP Yeah, why not. Light vehicles are a problem for the Yanks, the half-track is too light and Stuart is an overkill. It's a fun unit but the decrewing-issue remains a problem.
-AVRE 7HP->6HP It'll always be situational. I would have prefered s slight increase in range (90 meters or so), but this'll do. The nature of a Chuch VII is to be detracked somewhere in the no-mans land: the range of 80 meters doesn't just suit this very well.
-Allied Half-track 125->150 Hmm, that was a suprize. Armour vs armament can be argued, but judging by the popularity it's pretty obvious that the M3A1 is more useful than the SDKFZ (see much MG-rip happening on the german side?). But on the other hand it's simply an essential basic unit. Yanks in particular are utterly screwed without constantly having it around. 140MP maybe? Atleast the 5min timer must be toned down. Alternatively it could have different costs on different factions, for example US-version being cheaper than the Lend lease-ones. A tough question indeed.
-General direction of lowering medium howitzer prizes (Priest, 25pdr) - Nice, keep it up. Don't really want to see it more effective, just cheaper/more accurate. There's already enough devastating artillery in the game.
What's left then? I guess the changes are only values are going to be changed, so.
Buffing bad TD:s would be nice
-Prize/CP decrease on the Slugger.
-Prize decrease on the SU-85 and SU-100 (something like 50MP on both)
-The Archer. Well, I guess it'll be bad no matter what they do. It's hopeless. Feel free to try, to
.
-Wolverine...nevermind.
(-Hetzer. Maybe it should have a slightly better gun? 3-5mm more penetration? I'd just like to see it more often.)
And think about lowering the prize on mortars a bit. They're really prizy considering their only target is infantry/light AT & HMG.Last edited by Norbo; 27-07-2012 at 01:27.
I lost my manhood years ago. I don't really know what keeps me going anymore.

27-07-2012 #1778The big issue was ATR's not being able to do their job without becoming sitting ducks if not already in position. A small buff to give ATRs more stamina to make up for the heavy load would allow the duo to be used in a much more tactical way. If need be the Ger ATR could get a slight price cut, say 5 or 10 mp to reinforce mixing and this would cripple mindless cramped area light vehicle spam.-Allied Half-track 125->150 Hmm, that was a suprize. Armour vs armament can be argued, but judging by the popularity it's pretty obvious that the M3A1 is more useful than the SDKFZ (see much MG-rip happening on the german side?). It's sad that the HT and the emergence stemming from it is getting nerfed. Other units should be made more fun like the ATR or perhaps the German HT. The US/Brits really do need this unit to retain their fun factor.
HT change destroys the halftrack open which makes for an interesting cat and mouse between fast 223 or fast 222. Makes Assault + ATR a smart open and is over all fun.
British need to tow VIP units like 17s, 2lbrs, 3.7, and LandMat is nerfed which is lame.
1 pointer inf drop with halftrack or the easier conscript halftrack drop is nerfed too. That's not good. Ripple effect on the fun factor.
Pretty much concur with the rest except the howies.
Archer - cut 50 or 100 MP and see what happens.
Could do with 50 from the Achilles too.
And the hetzer is quite sad. Out shined by the pak lol.
Mortars can be placed very close to a building. Feels like they're a decent option for a 1v1 on tramway or to shell the center of town. I think map design and popular taste is what keeps the mortar down.Last edited by triumph; 27-07-2012 at 02:14.

When will the retail version of the patch be available? I have been waiting two weeks now, and haven't been able to get a game. And no, I don't have my gamespy key for steam, I lost the booklet.

Some sort of ETA would be nice regarding the patch for us none steamers ( Men of War AS GOTY, cant add it to steam sadly)
I installed this game ( fighting SecuROM protection along the way ) a few days ago hoping to get some fun out of multiplayer only to find that theres a new patch out for steam, meaning all the hosted games are unavailable and no one joins your own hosted games. . .
