    Re: Patch 1 - Announcement

The infantry damage change isn't that dramatic, it mainly flattens the damage curve a bit on medium to long range. Infantry will still die like flies when standing on the open, but currently we can hardly make a difference between a rifle and a shotgun on close/medium range in damage and what do we need a shotgun for if a rifle has the same damage output? Just as an example.
Also the change comes with a decrease in stealth ability of the infantry, so it's equaling it up a bit.

Maps, as written, there will be some classics reintroduced from MoW, for the second patch we can add some quality community maps.

I would like to see decreased accuracy for all guns apart from rifles. Currently rifles and and SMGs are not properly balanced. Either SMGs are too accurate for their 450m real life range or rifles are not deadly enough for their 60m in-game range. Rifles should have a tactical value, like it should be a common knowledge that they outperform SMGs on flat open areas, but sadly they don’t.

I would also say that MGs are a real problem in infantry combat. Firstly, there are too many of them for the amount of infantry that you can play with. Count how many infantry you have and count all MGs you have, including those on the vehicles. Not without a reason, Triumph writes guides on halftracks coz it is not really funny to send your infantry in as a single mg-42 in DC can dispatch them in no time. Secondly, all of them have no problem with sniping infantry at max range.

Basically, I really would like to see tactical and engaging infantry combat. I would like to see more infantry on the battle field and I don’t want to feel that I have to reward myself with buying infantry after I banked for my tank, just like some players already advice.

Implying that elites aren't near worthless atm to sucky survivability at close range (only range they function at due to plentiful SMG armament and intention of being in front of attacks, why else get them) because of close range damage buffs. 1 invisible tank crewman in crater versus 2 Panzergrens walking over it is GG for panzergrens. The only way elites functions well atm is hogging shell craters, and that's just borderline exploiting in the first place...

Really, why would I get 1 elite squad at 370 while I can get 2 sub elites at 500?

MGs aren't really all that dominating anymore, that was fixed ages ago. They still suffer from how infantry functions in this game but that's about all.

I am very happy they arent bullet sponges like during some time in the Beta anymore, though. I think it is perfect as it is right now.. maybe a bit too extreme because they are as you said pretty expensive but I think the fact that they all come with AT weapons makes up for that (one armored car surprising them on the run etc and both sub-elite squads can say bye bye)

I really hope there will be some propper bug fixes in the patch.

Theres a bug in singleplayer skirmish where all wounded troops can't be resurected if you load the game.
But they are still there on the ground and seem to count as a unit.
Theres also some horrible pathing bugs in skirmish, many times they never get to the location you called em in to.

Also some MP bug fixes is also needed.

    Re: Patch 1 - Announcement

I hope you won't forget the Sherman Firefly (easily adaptable from M4A3 Sherman, without the hull mg and with modified turret), and M4A3 Crab (with turret - that would be preferrable. Even though mines see little action these days.).

Now that a decent Panther model exists, why not make a new Jagdpanther on top of it? It is also a fairly common vehicle, gamewise (one in 3 games sees atleast one JP).

And, on the base of the Ho-Ri I, a new Ho-Ri II and a new Chi-Ri can be made - they share the identical, if not the same chassis.

    Re: Patch 1 - Announcement

The Firefly being build on the M4A4 is significantly different to the M4A3.
Besides I think you underestimate the work a variation of each tank requires. Having 4 times the texture resolution and 4-6 times the poly size than MoW models they require their time to be done. So even a variation of an existing tank takes a considerable amount of time.

As written in the announcement this issue is being looked into.
In fact I have fixed it yesterday. The problem is also not the path finding which works fine, it's an AI problem. They stop continuing to move once they see an enemy, or a friendly soldier in a range of 50m sees one and so forth. Basically this is happening most of the time and they will stop running into "enemy lines". With units spread all over the map they will consider the whole map as "enemy lines".

    @Hartmann

Elites are very good... in frontlines and high resource settings. In frontlines, if they hide in trenches, they survive a Artyshell next to them, no other units could survive this. With their 4 star accuray and awesome weapons they can kill all infantery and survive many hits. Oh, and they have AT-launchers.
It´s near impossible to kill Elites in trenches without a lucky HE shell.
For attacking they are very good too, they survive many hit´s.

Their price is very efficient too, if you copy for example a red guard squad with normals soldiers, you must pay 300 MP for them (2 MG´s, 2 Rocketlauncher, 6 SMG´s) But the Red Guard squads cost only 370 MP, for 70 MP they get much more firepower and survability, their only lack are sandbags (unimportant in frontlines, but i know important in AZ).

Sub elites are more suited for long range, lesser for storm the front or survive heavy incoming fire. I remembered today a game where i had Panzergrenadiere and other Soviet Marines. My Soldiers killed them pretty easy, no wonder, they have fullautomatic Stg44 with 60 range and 4 star accuracy, Marines many bolt rifles.

First i thought: Elites are so expensive, i can buy 3 assault squads with the same MP´s. But let´s not forget that 3 normal squads give them enemy more points (combat, frontlines) and is a heavy impact of CP. They die very easy, and mange them all in a fight is very hard. They are good to hold points in the early game and spott things, but if a enemy try to force you out with heavy armor, only elites could survive this (or long enough).

Well, i have a clue. We're making a lot of vehicles in WiW, and that's how we do them - especially the numerous variations of the M35 truck - either way, it's easier than doing a full model, from scratch, also given the fact one can recycle most, if not all of the texture (if a similar unwrap is done).

But in the end, i respect the effort placed into the issue. Some models really started to look old.
