I got 4 light tanks close enough by staying behind tank wrecks and they actually put the gun out of action permanently after 6 or so shots.
That doesn't sound very economical . Even if none of them were killed, I'd say it was a loss to purchase that many light tanks for one AT gun destroyed. They are not versatile enough to be useful except in small amounts.

Is this just my imagination, or is there more to this?
APCR has the same behavior as standard AP upon penetration in MoW:AS. I don't think that the increased armor penetration of the APCR rounds make hull damage/destruction more likely.

I have a question , cant there be introduced beside the penetration chance a metal fatigue feature , same like the infantry ,wich has a small health bar tank would need that too , I saw a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cg8YFnO5TDk the tank is unpenetrable , but i dont think a real life tank after beeing hit by 300 mm shells would have such strong weldings to resist that impact, I propose a health system same like in world of tanks so that even if you hit engine with 300.000 ,20 mm rounds of a maus it catches fire or its destroyed . Also tanks should have changing gear speed like infantry standing in different stances .

what the penetration system would really need is an overhaul of the angle / ricochet calculation. it simply sucks that if you hit a tank with an impact angle <20° , that the shot wouldn't bounce in some cases , it may deform the amorplates (if they are pretty thin and the shot energy/mass is high) but it would deflect the shot and not penetrate.

if you hit f.e.: a sherman in the side with an angle below 20° , the shot should bounce of , but i doesn't ....

So at 38mm and 20° you get an effective thickness of around 111mm, plus the shell probably does not grab into the target. Such shots bounce off ingame too. If it penetrates, the enemy armor is just too close or the angle is too high.
    Best regards!
