Re: Filter who gets in your game
Please make one, i personally hate people who come to our game with +200 ping or perf. is under 3 bars. They make our game so laggy. There are not so many players in the game but still, we aint playing with laggy players.
.....
Nobody agree? Are every player from siperia and just wanna play with a big lagg?

Re: Filter who gets in your game
The game only gets unplayable if alot of people have +300 ping. or one or more people have 500 or more ping.
Its been the same since S:HoWW2.
If you don't want people with 200+ ping you can kick them. but when playing random games you run the risk of people lagging. if you don't want lag. find people who are in your area that have a clan. and try to join them. thats pretty much the price you have to pay if you want a game thats 95% lag free.
But. as far as settings go. i'm against settings that block people/kick people based on stats. or ping. since the ping that is shown in the ping from the joiners comp to the hosts comp. so unlike Battle.net, the MP service is much more open, and depending on your view point, less useful.
Also. as a closing note. if the connection jumps than everyones ping could spike. and the game could kick everyone out. so that is a techy reason why thats not such a good idea. since its more or less direct hosting.

Re: Filter who gets in your game
if you're hosting a game feel free to kick anyone who doesn't meet whatever criteria you wish (it might be helpful to add these criteria to the in-game "additional info" when you start the game)
Aside from that utilise the "block" function to stop anybody bothering you and there you go.playing as: R313

Re: Filter who gets in your game
Me and my mate, we are both from same northern european country. Atleast what we have experienced with +400 games is that +200 ping players are starting to make game slower. Once we played 2on2 with two 250 ping players and we noticed that seconds start to go slower and 30min game may be like 35min or more..
Whatever the stats are, we want lag free game. No ping's over 200 and perf. 3 or more. I dont mean if you get ping spike, you are automaticly kicked, i only mean when somebody tries to connect with 300ping, he will get message "Sorry, your ping is too high for the server" or "Sorry, you need a higher performance to join this game".
You know how annoying it is to kick people who comes to your game? You kick them but they still come back or some people even tries to come back several times. Then they get mad and just come to the server to abuse you.
Btw, why MoW starts to lag because of other players ping? CoH doesnt do it..

I'm quite sure its the synchronization between every player - calculating and exchanging all physics, shots fired and so on. CoH is much simpler in these aspects.

There is a "Kick" button for situations like this.

Re: Filter who gets in your game
This is why I there needs to be a ban button.. I have had people I kicked join my game 30+ times and prevent me from getting a game going because they kept taking up the last slot.

Re: Filter who gets in your game
Right click their name and select the option "block". They will now be autokicked if they join your server. Do this with everyone that comes back after you kicked them for a good reason.
Problem solved.
And to all the skeptics; +200 ping really does lag up the server. I notice it clearly when you have one or more people on the server with more than lets say 150 ping. Anyone claiming anything else doesn't have keen enough senses to notice it and as such should be disregarded. The person who started the thread feels the lag, if you don't, good for you but don't claim it's not there.

250 is the verge of I can't get anything to listen to me in time to save their ass with management.
200+ just takes out the ability to have responsive direct control which can result in a lot of destroyed armor and hurt egos.
