Error messages of the 3ds Max exporter tool
I've opened a new paragraph on the mediawiki page.
http://digitalmindsoft.eu/mediawiki/wik ... r_messages
The idea is to compile a list of error message and how to overcome them to successfully export your model.
I can't reproduce every possible error message. So please, dear modellers and users of the exporter add a screenshot of the error or a description. If you know a solution, please add it.
Thanks

Re: Error messages of the 3ds Max exporter tool
This isn't exactly going to help, but I'm getting one now that simply says "Error Exporting Model" with no additional information.
It's for an infantry weapon, and it's my first fully custom export, so I should know more tomorrow when I clean it up a bit.
Edit: This definitely has to do with having your export paths screwed up. I corrected them and got into the actual progress bar, where I'm receiving a new error that I'll deal with tomorrow.

Re: Error messages of the 3ds Max exporter tool
Node errors mean that there is no hirarchy (parent children). In your case, The exporter doesn't know where to save the model, what type of model it is. It is stored in the user defined field of the main bone. In your case the pistol.
Your model is lacking parts/elements (helper bones, cameras and lights) I can't explain it in some lines.
You have 3ds Max and the exporter, open the samples folder that came with the exporter tools.
There should be an example file/folder called mosin. Its an example of an infantry weapon. Study it closly. It has all the elements you need to export your pistol successfully.

It's work.
Thans for help Cromtec.
I just aded this into User Define Properties
Now i used a Carcano Weapon for examle by Dilust.CommonMesh
Type=Actor
Model=entity/Inventory/-weapon/carcano
ID=pistol
And I use camera and lights from mgun exporter and it's work.
But now I can't shot with him.

Re: Error messages of the 3ds Max exporter tool
Change it to:
Poly
Type=game_entity
Model=...
It is not an actor and not a common mesh.
Check the hirarchy. It must have an Foresight3 (helper cross, Z=up, X=shooting direction) bone. That's were the fire FX is displayed/spawned.

Forget the fxcart bone. It is non standard I use it for special scripts.
Good luck with your project

Re: Error messages of the 3ds Max exporter tool
Check the pivot of the rifle.
And... I could be wrong, but I think that polycount this model is really bigger than need. How many triangles has this model?
