You should be able to run it in Win XP SP2 mode and it should work fine.

Install it, right click short cut on desktop and run in emulation mode, select WIN XP and that should be it, I have not tried it yet, but I will try and report back, if you have not done so before me

    Hope it works

Few topics down from this one it tells, the person installed the vista patch (install the game 1st) for this game and set it to vista compatibility.

Click this, then under game updates, click on vista upgrade then install that.

Of course works with Windows 7.

    - Install the game, but dont run it yet.
    - Apply Vista patch
    - Set SOLDIERS.EXE to WIN98 compatible
    - Run And play

When I purchased Soldiers I got the DVD Version 1.28 Is the Vista patch already in that version, it doesn't list it in the game readme? I also plan on a Windows 7 computer purchase and Soldiers is my game of choise.

Soldiers.exe is 5448 Kb size and say 1.0.28.0 version, but in game say 1.28.3e version

Vista Patch is for 1.28.3e version.

Thank You! My Soldiers.exe is 5.13MB and it is version 1.28.3E in the game. I will hang on to that Vista patch.
