Modder Resource: Mix 'n' match Uniforms (Germany)

Hello, I'm a long time lurker and leech of this forum, but now I think I can give a small contribute to this community.
Since SHoWW2 allows to pick different textures for each "skin", this can be exploted to give models a very different look, almost to a different look for every single soldier. Modifying the textures, anyway, may take a lot of time, so I had the idea of concentrating all the preparatory work, isolating single elements of various uniforms (only german, for now), so they can be mixed with just a few clicks depending on individual tastes and needs.
So I gathered images of uniforms, insigna and other militaria, from the game and its mods (mainly SoE), other games and photographic sources and then I isolated jackets, trousers, smocks, belts, webbings, collars, ranks, awards and such. I tried to use only historically accurate sources, so if you're an historic freak like me, you should be happy.
This work is still in progress, but there should be almost everything you need to create Heer enlisted men from 1939 to 1945, and then decorate them for their bravery and skil.
Techincal notes
I used multilayer .psd files: I can grant full compatibility with Photoshop CS2 and above. Since I used layer effects (mainly shadows) I don't know if this modding resource is fully compatible with the GIMP and other programs. Sorry about that, I hope this won't be a problem.
All textures are 512x512. I personally use them at 256x256, but, after resizing, I use the photoshop "sharpen" filter to enhance detail.
Credits
Since I rip... er... "borrowed" textures from other sources, and didn't draw anything, I take no credit for this modder resource.
Most of these images have an author, I can't credit everyone of them. I hope nobody will take exception to this work.
Thanks for your great work, everyone of you!
Down to the files:
For the "rifleman" model (I don't know who to credit, I saw it in Storm over Europe, BTRH and other mods) (512x512)
Uniforms (trousers, tunics, tunic collars, smocks)
http://www.mediafire.com/file/nml2wr...r-Infantry.psd (14 Mb)
Equipment (webbings, belts, buckles, special equipment for individual models like "rifleman" "sapper" and such)
http://www.mediafire.com/file/nt44yh...-Equipment.psd (2.51 Mb)
Ranks and insigna (collar tabs, shoulder tabs, medals, badges, national eagles)
http://www.mediafire.com/file/3do3wy...ks_Insigna.psd (2.24 Mb)
UPDATE 02/02/10 I added all the medals and the closed collar 2 from its "tank" counterpart, plus a new set of shoulder boards, and corrected an error in the old shoulder tabs.
For the very detailed "tankman" model we all know and love from the German campaign menu. (512x512)
Tankman uniforms and insigna (including M34 forage cap for tankmen* and visor caps for officers and NCOs of infantry and panzer units)
http://www.mediafire.com/file/mzymyy...-Tank_crew.psd (3.95 Mb)
* I'm not sure it actually existed
Infantry Uniforms (trousers, tunics, tunic collars, smocks and early war forage cap for Infantry)
http://www.mediafire.com/file/od5jnxznvma/ger-menu.psd (14.5 Mb)
N.B. Since the tankman model doesn't have a tunic, I used the approach, that I saw in 2PZ mod, of raising the belt. It worked suprisingly well, even if it's not perfect.
Infantry Equipment (webbings, belts, buckles - there's more material than its "rifleman" counterpart)
http://www.mediafire.com/file/ggnyv2...-Equipment.psd (4.4 Mb)
N.B. some elements, like buckles, may be used with tankers, but will need manual placement.
EDIT 20/02/10: Sorry, this file has wrong rear Y-Straps and the buckles will show a bit too large in game. See next post for a better one.
Ranks and insigna (collar tabs, shoulder tabs, medals, badges, national eagles - there's a lot more stuff than its "rifleman" counterpart)
http://www.mediafire.com/file/n0mfmn...ks_Insigna.psd (2.5 Mb)
N.B. some elements, like awards, may be used with tankers, but will need manual placement.
UPDATE 02/02/10 : I corrected an error in the shoulder tabs, added a new set of shoulder boards and changed the collar tabs for the closed collar II.
NEW 02/02/10
Since I wasn't satisfied of my "sumpfmuster" uniform, I made a splinter pattern camo uniform for the Heer.

Bonus
"Elite" collar tabs ranks (to be resized and placed, for all you "so called Elite" enthusiast)

A collection of faces
256x256: http://www.mediafire.com/file/mzlzhzunz4m/faces_256.psd (395 Kb)
512x512: http://www.mediafire.com/file/4zjlwdwodji/faces_512.psd (730 Kb)
Early war german soldier portrait for the interface (no more unpainted helmet and weird decals)

Some examples (256x256)
For "rifleman" model
1940+ infantryman (I'm not satisfied of collar)
http://www.mediafire.com/file/zw3jwy...n_Infantry.bmp
1943+ panzergrenadier EDIT: no, I based myself on faulty intelligence. It's a Jaeger texture.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/3yzjzh...man_pzGren.bmp
EDIT:
Since the Rifleman textures seem to be a lot more popular, I'll add two other, more specialized, ones.
1940+ heer soldier (any branch) with splinter pattern camo smock
http://www.mediafire.com/file/ddgzjn...leman_camo.bmp
1940+ Infantry NCO (unterfeldwebel)
http://www.mediafire.com/file/xzdinj...fleman_NCO.bmp
For "tankman" model
Two 1939/40 Panzergrenadier (ready for Albus and Dinsen great 2PZ mod
)
EDIT: It seems I blundered in several possible ways on this, they are Jaeger too, and as such have nothing to do with the 2nd Pz. Division. Well, if you want your Allied soldiers to pick on some unlucky early war light infantry, these textures will do.

Tankman (what do you mean you don't see any difference?
)

Future Development
In the next months I plan to work on:
Germany:
"Elite" NCO and officer collar ranks for al four collars and tankers (that's gonna be boooooring...)
Late war forage cap (M42)
Luftwaffe
Greatcoats
Cuff titles for all branches
"Elite" camo overall for tankmen and other "Elite" stuff
(eventually Feldgendarmerie and Police)
British Empire (adding some nationalities)
USSR
Well, that's all for now.
Please, feel free to use these files in whatever way you feel appropriate. No credit needed, but I think it would be wiser that, if you modify these files, you change the file name accordingly.
Enjoy!
Edit 05/02/2010
Added some new stuff
Both Rifleman and Tankman models
I found on my hard disk another, forgotten, tunic texture. Sweet. I made two tunics (M36/40 and M43) for both models, total 4 tunics, and gave them a rough finish, to reflect heavy wool material.
Much better than the other late war tunics I was using to this date.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/1wqnem...ool_Tunics.psd (2.57 Mb)
Officer model
Officers use same uniforms as ranks (better quality and cut not being noticeable in SHoWW2), but I added new equipment and ranks for creating your own custom german officer.
Brown and black finish leather belt, boots and pistol holster. Officer buckles for every need (Heer, Luftwaffe and "Elite"). Officer collar tabs (early and late war) in the usual waffenfarbe colours. Shoulder blades with photorealistic ranks from lieutenant to colonel. Even a couple red strips for creating service dress trousers (not meant to be worn in the field, but officers are often a bit vain).
http://www.mediafire.com/file/nluryh...ccessories.psd (3.54 Mb)
Infantry model
Ranks/Insigna expansion with new awards:
Knight's cross (two versions plus oak leaves)
Four different ribbon bars (Heer and "Elite")
A better close Combat Clasp (in bronze, silver and gold)
A better set (another!) of Infantry Assault badges (both silver and bronze)
German cross in silver (there was only the gold one)
War merit cross with swords (1st and 2nd class)
Army Flak badge.
(These awards can be easily used with the tankman model too, they just need to be moved some pixels upward)
http://www.mediafire.com/file/yu2rf0...s_Insigna2.psd (122 Kb)
Tankman model
Expansion for the tanker uniform: double breasted flap for jacket (stock jacket doesn't really look like the original tank wrapper), Black and Feldgrau uniforms now without belts, much better waffenfarbe piping (now separate collar from shoulder blades, because collar piping was discontinued during the war), corrected error in choulder blades piping, better death's head collat tabs in both black and feldgrau, collar tabs for infantry SP guns, separate collar for better placement of items (including never-approved bottle green collar for M1940 SP gun wrap).
http://www.mediafire.com/file/jnzyyn...Tank_crew2.psd (1.69 Mb)
Tank commander ranks, insigna and equipment: Shiny boots in both black and brown, officer quality breast eagle for both Heer and Luftwaffe, Officer quality belts and buckles (same as officer model), Original (stock game) shoulder blades expanded for 2nd lieutenant, 1st lieutenant and captain, finely detailed shoulder blades (same as officer model) from lieutenant to colonel, several collar badges for Heer officers, Knight's cross, buttonhole ribbons.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/z5yiuk...y-Tank_com.psd (3.27 Mb)
Some examples
For Officer model
A young and naive infantry lieutenant at the start of the war. He had still no opportunity to prove himself, so he earned only the Iron Cross 2nd class.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/zjdiyt..._leutenant.bmp
The same officer some years after. He earned several ranks, a load of high-ranking medals and a mean reputation. He also dropped brown leather for the same black that his men wear. Give him an helmet, an MP40 and he'll run to the thick of the action, where he belongs.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/5oltkt...lieutenant.bmp 256x256
For Tankman model
This Heer tank commander is ripe to earn the Knight's Cross.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/yiymj2...m_heer_512.bmp 512x512
NOTE: this texture won't show the wrong collar tabs position you see in the picture at start of this post: that was a test, and errors have been corrcted.
