General Description
I wasn't too happy with the short ranges of all the weapons in the original Men of War and I didn't like what other mods tried to do, so I decided to create this mod. First I tried to make things as realistic as possible, a realism mod, but I thought it was just too frustrating and too chaotic thanks to this game's small maps and highly zoomed in camera. So then I started from scratch on a mod that brings more realism to the battles of Men of War without going too far. Finally, I came up with this mod, Realism Rebalanced.
I can describe this mod with one simple sentence: This mod makes the game more realistic without taking away the fun! Read the version history to see what features are currently present in this mod.
What is supported and what is not
This mod is compatible with Dynamic Campaign Generator 2.1, DCG unit pack 2.1, DCG map pack 2.1 and DCG infantry pack 2.1. I suggest you run this mod together with DCG. This mod works best and absolutely fine on DCG missions.
This mod does work with the original Men of War missions but because of the way those missions are built, there might be problems on certain missions thanks to the increased weapon and view ranges of this mod.
Multiplayer has not been tested and I've probably not configured all the necessary multiplayer settings, so I've no idea what will happen in multiplayer. Currently I've no interest in making this mod multiplayer compatible because DCG is all I play at the moment.
Some final words
If you are going to use DCG together with this mod you must make sure that you activate DCG before activating this mod. So in other words, make sure DCG is above this mod in the mod manager list before you click on the Apply button to activate the mods.
Suggestions are highly welcome! And don't forget to read the ReadMe that comes with the download!
Credits and thanks
Credits to Best Way and Digitalmindsoft, the creators of Men of War.
Credits to Zeke Wolff for the included gun configuration files (marked as DCG in filename) from DCG unit pack 2.1.
Credits to Kohlrabi for the included smg and rifle configuration files (marked as DCG in filename) from DCG infantry pack for 2.1.
Special thanks to the Dynamic Campaign Generator team and everybody who worked on that excellent mod! I totally love it! That mod made me continue to work on this mod.
Version history listed below
Code:Version 0.2: - Added 2 modified weapon configuration files from DCG infantry pack 2.1 to make this mod compatible with DCG infantry pack for 2.1. - Removed new loadouts for infantry and switched back to original loadouts. (Use DCG infantry pack for new loadouts) - Reduced AI damage reduction VS other AI. - Increased MG42 rate of fire and magazine size. Slightly reduced accuracy. Version 0.1: - First release! - Doubled (2x) all weapon ranges. - Increased ranges at which damage values decrease. (Units do more damage at longer ranges compared to original game) - Increased accuracy of all units. - All weapons fire with decreased accuracy with their first shot. Accuracy increases with every successive shot when firing on the same spot. (Affects slow firing weapons the most and fast firing weapons the least) - All automatic weapons have increased dispersion speed. (Player must shoot in bursts to retain maximum accuracy) - Increased the time between shots/bursts of all small arms. (only affects AI) - All weapon projectiles fly faster. - Adjusted difficulty settings. (Made some things harder, other things slightly easier) - Slightly increased damage of SMGs. - Increased amount of items (ammo, grenades, bandages) infantry starts with. (Does not affect certain units in the original campaign missions) - Officers get a SMG instead of just a pistol and are expert with SMGs. - Special forces are expert with all weapons. - Increased view distances by a factor of 4 (4x). - Decreased accuracy of indirect fire weapons (Their first shot will most likely miss but they will eventually zero in). - Added a couple of modified DCG Unit Pack 2.1 gun files to make this mod compatible with DCG Unit Pack 2.1. - There's probably something I forgot...

Re: [MoW] Realism Rebalanced
Thanks guys.
If there's enough interest for it, I might provide multiplayer support. As for the sounds, I'm not really a sound guy, so I probably won't add any new sounds but I'm sure there are/will be other mods that will do that. It shouldn't be too hard to run a sound mod next to this one.

Re: [MoW] Realism Rebalanced
It actually sort of works in multiplayer except that huge visibility trough fog affects fps alot. I had to remove that generic vision file from the folder...

Re: [MoW] Realism Rebalanced
What about using the other type fog of war? I know that the realistic one uses the most computer resources.

No time to test simple fog but I would never use it anyways. My specs are E5200@3.5ghz, 2x1gb ddrII, 8800gts 320mb

Re: [MoW] Realism Rebalanced
This is what I've been waiting for too. I tried some original missions it was so hard, but I was satisfied this reality. Range makes good for AI fighting too. Thank you!
Do you think this mod wil be applied to Kohlrabi's new infantry addon easily?

Re: [MoW] Realism Rebalanced
I don't know what exactly he has changed but I'm sure I'll figure it out. Seeing as how that will be an addon for DCG, I'll do my best to make this mod compatible.

Re: [MoW] Realism Rebalanced
I haven't altered that many game mechanics, but I think you'd have to to change the extra weapons I'm using in order for it to be 100% compatible. I doubt things would crash by combining, but I won't guarantee anything
