    Downloadable-Content

    Downloadable-content
A smaller expansion you can buy on the web and download it instantly, adding various new content to the game for a lower price than a full expansion. (i.e. high-res textures, new maps, new vehicles, new singleplayer content)

What would you love to see in such downloadable-content?

Share your thoughts and drop your ideas, however please keep realistic. Downloadable-content will never be as big as an expansion, and an expansion never as big as a full-game.

1.A campaign for the US. A campaign for the Japanese will be really cool, almost no other rts game has done it.
    2. Specific battle scenarios, say Stalingrad or Kursk or D Day.
    3. New maps

    1. It must be good.
    2. It must be reasonably priced.
    3. It must be a collection of things, not things one by one (for instance not being able to buy single units)
    4. It must not split the community in half (should not happen if first, second and third poin are met)
    5. It must have uses without modding or mapping (you buy a unit, but it cannot be used anywhere, because you cannot create maps (time issue etc.))

In short: It must be really good or else I won't pay a cent. I didn't even buy any mini addons for Fallout 3, because they may be good, but I hate microtransactions so much. You usually get less content for a higher price.

Edit: What I'd love to see is you make a campaign for the Japanese and maybe more singleplayer maps that can be played cooperatively. For example maps on the eastern and late western front with better equipment on each side.
Also I would like some more defense maps where you actually have time to set up your own defenses (sand bag walls, tank traps, mines) and not just get a few "seconds" before the enemy rushes in. Of course having the time and enough tank traps, the AI should get a solution if it cannot find a path and begin destroying placed tank traps.
These maps should be made cooperatively and then you could start the rush of enemies by "raising a flag", in other words: setting a trigger.

Money made with these miniaddons could be put into mp to extend it further, gathering new customers that might pay for singleplayer and coop addons.

No, never have and never will buy any downloadable content. I want the CD/DVD sitting on my desk handy at all times.
I am not always hooked up to the Internet and may want to install it on another PC that isn't hooked up.
I'm afraid downloadable content does not interest me...

    Completely agreed.

I'd like to see a Japanese campaign, a few more bonus missions and higher resolution textures + units for MP, there are enough maps for now.

    Re: Downloadable-Content

-I dont need hires textures because im playing on medium to keep the game smooth in heavy populated battles. ...and im often experience performance drops from others players and this could make it wors.

-I dont need singleplayer content, for me the multiplayer is way to go.

    - ithink some new maps would be ok, but make sure you release them in packs, it would be lame to buy a single map everytime you make one.

-Im not quite 100% sure about vehicles. What if somebody in multiplayer has buyed some powerfull new vehicles that i dont have because i didnt buyed the content? That would force everybody to buy it just to have fair game or force them to search for game that has so much content like i have. ...bad idea.
-you could make new faction as a downloadable content, but i gues expansion or datadisc would be more appropriate.

To sum it up im preffering datadiscs and expansions more that downloadable content.

Agreed here aswell. I would never buy if it contains just some units at the time. It should contain at least a pack of 20-30 vehicles, or even more! 5th point could be solved by making SP missions with the new stuff in, since maybe all the new stuff won't fit in MP, for example trains or planes. Of course every new thing from the DLC must be usuable in the editor. hehe..

Maybe a new nation would do fine for such an DLC. Example; Finland, France, which includes vehicles, skins, weapons and soldiers for the nations. Or maybe expand Italy, more of their stuff + missions? Or what this game really needs, more train types, maybe specific for the nations. Things that there are few of and miss in the game would be great.

However there are some things that wouldn't interest me so much, like interface upgrades, new abilities for soldiers, more mp modes and so..

If the DLC is big enough and contains a bit of everything, mostly vehicles, weapons and so, or even a nation i will buy it for sure.

Stuff like this splits the community imo , i would much rather buy a full expansion for 29.99 that everybody buys.

It depends on how it is done. If it was just an equipment upgrade, then you’re wrong. The person without the mini-expansion just wouldn’t have those types of equipment. But if it was game play changing items, then your correct. If they are going to do mini-expansions, the skirmish mode would be something I would buy, it wouldn’t effect the multiplayer community or separate versions. I would also pay for additional countries with equipment like Poland, China, Italy, etc.
