This game mainly played out of the US? Few questions.
I was just curious what some of you think the population online of this game is roughly going to be? I ran across this game the other week and just played the demo and I must say I'm quite interested at this point, although oddly enough I haven't really heard anything about it. I picked up DOWII recently and although enough people play the matchmaking set up they have is down right awful (will this game have lobbies or matchmaking?). Also from what I've noticed all the reviews are coming mainly out of the US and although the people I've seen comment on more so then not give it a thumbs up..it seems not many people know about it (could be wrong). I really don't want to hop online and end up waiting 10-15 min for a match or have to play at a certain time just to find full games. Anway, thanks in advance.

Re: This game mainly played out of the US? Few questions.
It's a server browser system so there is none of that waiting for players match making. It's not going to be a popular game in the US because it isn't extremely user friendly so don't expect to see any good reviews from the US. Over all tho the mass group of the players you'll run in too multi are Russian but it's really quite a diverse group.
Its a great game if you are a fan of actual Tactical gameplay not that crap they call DOWIIs sense of Squad based tactical action.Sturmtiger = Volkswagen of doom!

Re: This game mainly played out of the US? Few questions.
Hi,
since the game is not released in the US (going to happen tomorrow) and in some European countries it obviously doesn't reach it potential yet.
However at evenings (European time) the game peaks at around 450 users in the lobby with plenty of games, during the night it falls down due to the described situation in the US, but still it's possible to get games going, just checked in and watched a game filling in a few minutes.
It has a proper in-game lobby with chatroom and useful gamebrowser. Matchmaking is scheduled for the free big content upgrade patch.will this game have lobbies or matchmaking?
Reviews on US magazines should appear soon, as said it's not officially out in the US yet."If men would consider not so much where they differ, as wherein they agree, there would be far less of uncharitableness and angry feeling in the world" -Joseph Addison

Re: This game mainly played out of the US? Few questions.
i would disagree with alucards comment that most people on multiplayer are from russia as most people ive seen playing online are from all over europe,
this is not to say there is not a lot of russian players because there is a lot of them (about equal with euoropean players), i have found that there is a large american community already showing a lot of interest in MOW and once the game has been released there and been on sale for a little while there will be a huge amount of games to join at any time of day or night where ever you are in the world!!!

I would say there are mostly Russian players - probably about 60-70%. Of course, you can't read anything they write, even if you knew Russian, because of the garbled text. It's also true that it's easy to get a game during that small European night-time window, but otherwise you'll usually wait 30 minutes or more for a game with more than two or three players.

I am really impressed! Yesterday night when i got my game and went online, i was able to join a game with some yanks who had just bought the game, and the lobby is uberly full of people, 2 or 3 times as much than fow had.
Just wait for the full patch and this game will shine :P"Уи Ѕоviэт Яцѕѕіа, Щікіредіа Едітѕ Уфц!"

Re: This game mainly played out of the US? Few questions.
I was able to finally play with someone who was in the US in one game, not just by them speaking English and claiming they were from Montana, but since I hosted a game locally, their ping was quite low to mine. Hopefully more and more here from the states get the game.

i think this game will take off in the states because ive been with a clan who have about 50 members, the vast majority of them are from USA, they are FPS players but after a few played the beta they are buying the game and setting up space on theyre servers for it!!! incedentley the clans name happens to be "men of war" which is how they happened to come across the game, ive spoken with them through teamspeak and get the impression that none of them have any trouble with the interface which doesnt surprise me as the interface is VERY user friendly, also i usualy play the game at night time in scotland and have NEVER waited 30 minutes for a game!!!

Re: This game mainly played out of the US? Few questions.
Im American and I love this game, my brother and I play it all the time (BETA) Just now bought the game though. I noticed though when I was playing beta there were a ton of U.S players, which really got me interested. I played FOW but multi-player started to suck as the english speaking players (which was low anyways) started to lessen until it was hard to find a game where I could understand someone. But this game looks to have a much bigger multinational player base. And game player is better, because they finally went with a realistic game play system. Hated in FOW how most properties were bull crap and you could hit a cannon forever with HE without killing it or the guys on it.
