    The Heavy Guns - AP/HE?

What shell type is simulated by the 203mm K18 and 305mm coastal artillery? They only have one shell type, and since they are coastal guns, it would make sense that they would fire an AP shell. Also, the picture of the shell they fire has a blue cap. However, it does not say what type of shell is fired. It is an AP shell or an HE?

    Also what is this 203mm K18? I've come across a 170mm K18 but never a 203mm (8") gun designated K18

    Re-using mines

I set some mines that I now want to deaactivate and move elsewhere. Being used to SHOWW2 it was simple to get one of your guys to do this although I can't find the command in MoW (and I've checked the manual).

Is it possible to move mines once you've planted them, or are they a 1-time use only?

Second, are radio controlled mines explained in a thread aleady? Can't find anything on them.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Re-using mines

I haven't found a way to move mines you've once placed, though I have never had any need to do so. Placing mines is a risky businness in itself, I would rather place new mines and not risk moving existing ones, who knows if they'll be in the way of enemy forces at some point or not. More mines=better
Especially if you do frontline minelaying, as in using them more offensively than defensively.

    Re: Vehicles and weapons discussion

They are a hybrid of both. They have some penetration capability, but rely more on using brute explosive power to crush and disintegrate the target.

    Re: Vehicles and weapons discussion

pelitys thanks for the reply but probably shows differences in our game play, me sticking to SP. In SHOWW2 re-using mines in some missions was a lifesaver! Still not clear if it's impossible to re-use in MoW.

Anyone any help on the radio-controlled mines?

Third, I question the rationale of this topic being buried in a 'vehicles and weapons discussion' thread. If all questions or discussions related to every vehicle and weapon in the game are placed in this thread you'll find it quickly becomes the longest thread in the forum. I know there' s limited bandwidth but trying to pack everything into one thread will result in more users asking "Can anyone help with..." as they can't find a topic at an entry level in the discussion sub-sections.

    Re: Vehicles and weapons discussion

Gonna bump my post about Russian arty. Good god they need nerfs.
Katyusha killing KT's like it was nothing.
D1 Hitting moving armored cars dead on. Honestly what type bull**** is that? Pardon the language but it's happened to me twice today, I seriously doubt it's coincidence.

The ISU-152/SU-122 are pesky but they're tolerable. Just the 2 I mentioned above need to be balanced greatly. No rocket launching barrage unit should be able to kill a heavy tank, and yet one does. Along with this artillery as if it had guided missile technology.

I'm going to start playing more non arty based games. This is getting retarded.

Im with you in this one!!!
I'v been adviced to play with setting "no arty", but not many people are willing to play with this options. So even better thing to do is not playing as german. Spam some decent T34s and when the german gets its panther or KT to rape them destroy it with katusha. ...but its retarded.

Normally artillery kills very large tanks onl yif they have lucky hits on the top or engine. And perhaps the Kingtiger is more prone to that because of the flat angles. Also buying arty is very risky if there is not much money. Arty can fire some rocekts that may kill a heavy tank and then has to reload for minutes. A heavy tank can kill many more things. so heavy tanks are a much more safe investment.

Normally the worst thing I get from arty attacks are broken tracks on my tanks.

    Re: Vehicles and weapons discussion

FYI, i have added screenshots to the wiki for almost all russian vehicles, and some german tanks. the screenshots show the vehicle's inventory, MP cost, and some stats. http://www.digitalmindsoft.eu/wiki/doku ... icles_list
