Bocage maps
Bocage2

Bocages

As one can see all the foliage is mostly connected. So I recommend that if one doesn't want all the foliage to go up in a puff of smoke at once that small bits of the foliage be removed to prevent this occurance. It would defeat the whole purpose of the map if a spark took away all the cover. Sorry guys, I didn't think of that until afterwards and there doesn't seem to be a way of keeping the foliage from burning even in a monsoon

Re: Bocage maps
Sorry, Albus, I don't understand. I'm technically deficient here
. I just dragged the folder out that I thought had the map in it. Did I get it right this time?

Re: Bocage maps
You must copy folders map/bocage and entity/landscape/map
They can not open their maps without the landscape

Re: Bocage maps
This just shows how much I know of modding. I can't even get the simple stuff right
. I hope I'm fixing this correctly.

Re: Bocage maps
Me too....some 8 months ago I was in the same situation like you MadCat. I have asked Albus, and he helped me to understand how to export a map. So heads up MadCat!!

Re: Bocage maps
All right, this time I just made copies of all the corresponding folders from resource on down until I got to the individual files I wanted in there. So it goes from a single resource folder to /entity/landscape/map/land400x600/bocages.mod and /map/single/bocages. I could have put them in one file I suppose but I'm still not confident enough in my filing abilities to try that. So they're seperate in case someone just wants one of them. I sure hope I got it right this time 'round

Re: Bocage maps
I mostly made them because the bocage maps in the game just do not represent the actual bocage country of France. Hedgerow fighting was some of the toughest out there because of the close quarters involved. German units could literally appear out of nowhere to destroy allied units. I'm hoping some intrepid modder might like to recreate that type of combat using one or both of these maps. The modders can add towns and such for objectives or I also added two bridges to one map in case they might like to have a strategic crossroads objective as well. These maps aren't fancy or anything, just made to provide cover for defensive units. I was going to recreate the flooding of the lowlands but thought better of it. Units would have been more or less restricted to roads and high ground to move and I think it would have made sitting ducks out of units caught out in the open.
