Re: FoW Addon Screenshots!
Hi!
I'm new here and just wanted to pop in and say hi
I'm very impressed by those screens! But i wonder, is this a official mod (original creators) or a private made one? Very nice though :insane:
EDIT: Do you know if it will be released in stores or only by net?
EDIT2: That's super!
Thanks for the fast reply.
I'm really looking forward to this addon, the first screens are very impressive.
I'm glad to hear that the addon will be released in stores, very glad!

Re: FoW Addon Screenshots!
Hi, welcome aboard!
This Addon is a cooperation work between DMS and Bestway, so it is official.
To make this Addon as a download would be an addition, but we are not planning to do this yet, so it will be in stores."If men would consider not so much where they differ, as wherein they agree, there would be far less of uncharitableness and angry feeling in the world" -Joseph Addison

Re: FoW Addon Screenshots!
I actually think not, it will need extra discussion. Currently engine uses "cut_entities" just realtime for shellholes, all others are placed in the map, not in the .mi or realtime.

Re: FoW Addon Screenshots!
yeah deforming terrain in real time must be a touf nut.
Anyway diging would meen a long term engagement (more of my liking) rather than the quick fast paced encounter Fow portraits.. so not a must have. Even tho it would be must apreciated and realy set it a part .
You could add to the features "Tired of bonbing? you can dig holes with a shufle on this one"

Tired of boonbing?

We will discuss such a feature, but I'm not guaranteeing anything

Re: FoW Addon Screenshots!
Great screenshots! Is that an early PzKpfw III? Since FoW is set in 1944-1945, we really need some early war vehicles! I have lots of questions; here are a few of them (I know you may not have all the answers yet, but I appreciate any info you can give):
Does the expansion include the early war vehicles from SHOWW2 like the Matilda, PzKpfw IVD, KV2, and others? Will there be rural Russian buildings, like in SHOWW2? (In real life, they don't look like the Western European rural buildings that we see in FoW now.) What theatres and times will it cover?
Bot-59/Skael said some months back that the expansion would have a new emphasis on realism, including more realistic armor penetration (getting rid of armor "hitpoints", etc.); is that still true? Can you expand on that?
Also, he said there would be improvements to make modding easier, like screens for selecting single player user-made battles and campaigns; can you also confirm that?
Will there be other new features apart from the new battles and interface?
Will it be released in the U.S. simultaneously with everywhere else (we usually have to wait months or years, and sometimes the release never happens at all)?
Thanks!

Re: FoW Addon Screenshots!
On the pic you see a PzKpfw III F variant.
Yes the expansion will include early war material and also vehicles which weren't in SHoWW2.
It is planned to make the armor penetration system more realistic, as the game will be overall.
Also it is planned to make the game more userfriendly in order to make it easier to add maps.
Besides the new interface there will be improved gamemodes for Multiplayer and several Singleplayer features, which we will explain when time comes.
The Addon will be released in the CIS first, than it will be published world wide with extra content."If men would consider not so much where they differ, as wherein they agree, there would be far less of uncharitableness and angry feeling in the world" -Joseph Addison

Re: FoW Addon Screenshots!
Thanks very much for the answers! I hope the transition from CIS publication to worldwide is really short!

I don't know if you can answer this question, but it would be really helpful to me:
I made the Dynamic Campaign Generator mod, which runs in the background to provide a linked series of random singleplayer missions. Is there any chance that the expansion will include this kind of campaign natively? If it will be built in to the game after the expansion, I could spend my time working on other things instead
(not that I'd lose interest, just change focus...)
