Line of Sight
I don´t want to be a whiner, but maybe somebody encountered this situation too: With your Tank-Hunter you advance carefully behind some foliage to outflank the enemy position but suddenly one shell take out your tank. what happened? One Infantrymen spottet my tank and revealed its position (nothing wrong with this). Then an AT-Gun behind 3 enormous Hedgerows and some bushes fired an AP-Shell which went through 3 Hedgerows and some bushes and hit your tank with pinpoint accuracy.
Maybe half the accuracy if the firing Unit that has no direct line of sight to the target. Just my opinion
. Its just frustating if an AT-Gun (or tank) behind bushes, trees, hedgerows, flowers and what else can hit as accurate as in the open. Yeah , if your tank is not destroyed, you can fire back, but its not really the thing if tanks and AT-Guns shell each other through foliage with no direct LOS. It is okay to fire at the unit (which was spotted by infantry) but with only 10-20% chance to hit.

Re: Line of Sight
How about lower detection rates for SPGs? After all, SPGs were more compact than the majority of other tanks... and a stealth bonus would do them good

Re: Line of Sight
I agree, it would give you a better reason to get SPG's over tanks. And it's realistic as well.

Re: Line of Sight
Aside from the fact that it fairly handily kills every armoured vehicle in the game, you mean?

Re: Line of Sight
I definetly second you. A malus in target accuracy should be implemented when indirect fire is used.

Re: Line of Sight
Another thing that might be improve gameplay and realism is to improve open topped tank hunters LOS. Right now they have no real advantage to SPG´s (beside the turret). In my opinion, the real advantage of open topped tank hunters is that the crew is more aware of the environment around them
. Now ingame the LOS-Cone around (for example) the M10 is the same as the one from the sherman. The Wolverine (not only the M10 but all open topped verhicles) should have a greater 360 View.

Re: Line of Sight
Yeah sure... they could´ve a 360 degree field of vision IF they wanted to get their heads blown off. Imagine yourself being in a battle and then dare to raise your head above the armor...
Snipers firing from distance into a open topped tank hunter was the reason for death of many crew, also unnoticed soldiers lobbing a handgrenade inside the turret was another big reason. This is one of the major reasons to why many crews field modified their tank hunters with improvised roofs etc. Most tank hunters were equipped with episcopes which gave them a frontal view and a limited view to the sides of the vehicle and nothing else.
The turreted tank hunters biggest advantage over a SPG, is the turret and superior speed.
