A bit of nostalgia for all......

I have created a small mod that makes the new intro video included in patch 2.05.13 visible on mission select screen...

Simply choose Skirmish then Select Mission from main menu and watch the video.....

I hope people enjoy this because it adds another nice touch to the game.... IMHO....

I will upgrade this mod regularly and include additional & longer intro videos to choose from... Maybe with audio/sound..

EDIT: I just found a website that has copyright and royalty free WW2 footage that is free to use and some are even in colour, So expect regular updates with some interesting footage....

I just tried this on my dvd version of the game, patched to 2.05.13.

After choosing "Skirmish", then "Select Mission" which goes to the "Skirmish:nations" menu,
all I see are the usual clouds dark swirling in the background of the 5 button nations menu.

I thought you meant DMS had made a new Men of War Assault Squad intro movie clip,
if you used your mod, it would make it play.

Yes, DMS included an into video.... When my game was patched i got a intro video clip...... ( however it is obscured by the title pic )

I just realised i have GOTY edition...... ( intro vid may be for GOTY i think ) - but it will still work....

If you have GSM 7 or War Realism Mod and activate them in mods (only 1 at a time) , then activate the intro video mod in first post then you can watch the videos from those two mods also.....

The order for activating the mods is critical, for example GSM 7 then intro video mod will work...

I have included the stock DMS into clip for those that don't have GOTY edition of MOW:AS...
( it seems the intro clip may be included in latest patch of GOTY edition and not the retail version?)

I have both versions, one ver on laptop and the other ver on gaming PC, Its possible i noticed it in one version and copied it over to the other version manually too.....

Anyways,
This will give you all an intro clip for those that don't have it.....

PS: Suggestions wanted on other possible clips people recommend or feel would look good as an intro clip... ??????
( for those clips with sound, the audio in a intro clip will cease once a mission starts etc, so sound is cool )

On my display, 1680 x 1050, the video looks pixelated & poor quality.
The video is only 480 x 360 resolution.

We could make our own custom videos at better quality and higher resolution ?

You can always substitute your own .avi file....

Simply replace the menu.avi file in the intro_video_mod resource/video folder with one of your own.....

New version on first page BTW.....

Stock MOW B&W intro clip, it has no audio / sound...... Seems to be in game footage and low quality, so don't complain.... LOL
