Trying to get Assault Squad installed and runnin g correctly.
A few months ago I bought the entire suite of Men of War and just recently got time to install and try to play.
I tried Men of War first...no go. Then I tried Vietnam version and no go. Finally, I tried Assault Squad.
The installation seemed to go well (as did the other tries with MOW and Vietnam) but I never got asked the key number from Steam
and the games would start. The big problem is that I have no mouse cursor control. It stays blocked on the screen and I cannot move it.
By the way, regarding Assault Squad, I downloaded a 1.5Gb "change of format" file, hoping I'd have a completely updated version of the game. I still have no mouse cursor control. I can move the mouse and use the WSAD keys to move about the map, but cannot select anything with the mouse.
I looked on the forum and other areas, but found nothing. So, I really need help here. My computer is pretty high end: HP, win7, 8g ram, 2g on board video, Intel i7 processor, 17in laptop. DV7
Any suggestions from anyone, please?
Thanks a million.

Is the cursor problem in both MoW and Assault Squad?

on board video card could be the issue, make sure you have latest chipset drivers for that but in most cases if you have graphical issues with games and it its onboard video chipset then usually thats the reason or partially reason for it.

Thank you, gentlemen for your replies. This is what I have going:
1.The mouse cursor is blocked (in the same screen position, I think) in all the games in the MoW group of games; (MoW, Red Tide, Vietnam,
Assault Sq.) This is a laptop HP DV7 17", Hi Res screen with Radeon 6770M card with 2ghz on board Video Ram. I have the card set for High performance GPU (Graphics Performance Unit). Maybe I'll try it on Power Saving GPU.
2. I use a Logitech wireless USB mouse (usually without problems) and even shut of the track pad, which is possible. I have same problem with trying the track pad - no cursor movement. Nothing works.
By the way, the games seemed to install correctly, I just cannot control them with the mouse...so, in effect, I cannot play them.
I have my applications that allow me to look up driver/software updates, but everything on this computer is updated.
3. I have no other computer on which to install/try the games, so I'm stuck here on this laptop.
I'd sure like to play these games as I was a big fan of SHWWII. I never thought I'd run into a mouse problem!!!!
If there is anyone out there who may have an idea to help, I'd really appreciate it. You guys are pretty sharp!!!
Thanks.

Maybe the game is not compatible with the wirless mouses?
Also, you should get informed that it is really easy for those to stop working, I had one that barely last a month without stopping to work.
As djsatane, check for updates for your drives, maybe your windows.
I think that Instinct, if he could, would give you more help on the matter as it may be as I said before, incompatible with the game itself and the mouse is fine.
But tell me, did your mouse worked on SHOWWII?
Because if it worked there, I doubt it wouldn't work on a more, lets say "recent" version of it."When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on."
