I'm going to continue to use jeeps in the best way I know. Max range otherwise they die. Preferably propped up behind solid cover like a low wall or sandbag. I am probably going to see them continue to blow up from light arms fire and I am probably going to still be unsatisfied with an answer to "Why is this like that?"

Now this is where I struggle to put forth a decent argument. Because I'm trying to apply a jeep in an actual game where applicable. I'm looking at terrains and I'm saying "That's a nice wall to stick a jeep behind" aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it's gone. The thing just dies too easily without the enemy player having to do anything.
I think you're using jeeps wrongly. They're not armoured cars, nor are they a machine gun emplaced behind some sandbags, or infantry hidden in cover. It makes sense for jeeps to be vulnerable. Cars are big, soft-skinned and obvious targets. You can't use it like an armoured vehicle.

You can still use its superior speed to respond to threats, but sticking it in one place and expecting it to lock down an area or survive isn't tenable. As soon as you've made your jeep's location known, you should move it to prevent being attacked. You can still use it to quickly suppress sandbagged infantry or defend against a crowd of running infantry, just don't expect it to shrug off rifle rounds.

I think you're treating the jeep like as if it was in an old version of MOW:AS, where it was very tough to destroy. You have to use the jeep differently to how it was, instead of just going to the forums to complain that your tactics don't work anymore.

    Jeeps uses:
    1. Large map you get to run to a flag for fast capture.
    2. Free forward LMG with now poor accuracy. Double L for payback
    3. A way to flank and perhaps decimate infantry at game start depending on map.

For everything else 7man HT pop.
It would be fine if it had 5 or so more degrees left and right.

I also use them in pushing situations where I really don't want a halftrack but still need the chance to lmg rip.

I'm not just "Leaving" the jeeps there.

    All these assumptions...

I have brought them up and they've been immobilized. And I've said before as soon as it's been immobilized it's pretty much dead. I think if you watch the last game I uploaded I have a half track which survives nearly the entire game and a KV1. I'm not someone who throws away units and I am experimenting with their use trying to find what you can or should not do with a unit.

The jeeps speed is very important. You can leave it behind a hill or building and then bring it in when you need it. Only...when you do that it gets hit and shortly dies. Does it really need to be this way?

I'm going to go on the offensive and just outright say it now. Apparently everyones too much of a noob to deal with a jeep and that is why they are spammed. I'm just not quite understanding the logic here. Then another wild assumption comes in that I want them to be immortal instead of just a minor decrease in the range that they are basically killed.

    ---

Triumph brought some interesting stuff to the table. I for one am not so concerned about the rotation. You can actually do something about that yourself. You can't stop the enemy from breaking your jeep without having to do anything though. As he mentioned the accuracy isn't very good. Which apparently is really good at destroying everyones stuff and giving people a voice of concern about minorly improving it's survivability at long distances.

PS - I have no idea where I am being sarcastic anymore!

If the Jeeps' gun had 10-20 more range, it could be used for suppression. Coupled with the speed, it would really give the Jeeps a meaning instead of just taking a flag and then self destruct for the payback.
    Best regards!

With a quick browse through the thread, I'd like to point out that a jeep can rip a german assault squad in the open. The STG-44 fires SMG-bullets, largely ineffective against the jeep. Atleast it can hold the squad off off and prevent them from digging in: this is no problem if were talking about jeep-starts. But I guess we aren't. Asd.

Btw, the poor Dodge should receive a minor buff after being hit so hard. Maybe one should be able to rip the Vickers VGO after the car is disabled?

If it has 10-20 more range why wouldn't the HMG or the MG inside tanks get 10-20 more ranges as well then, those options being in a more stable positon than the jeep. Also, like I've been saying so many time before, the Jeep is a fast way to position an MG. That in itself, is all the utility it needs to be very useful.
