I'd consider minus repping you for your avatar myself. The table in it has no corners. The most important thing to a table is the corners.

But I digress. I don't think negative or low rep is going to make your post garner less attention, the opposite I'd think. When I see a low rep feller post, I immidiately go to read his post with great glee in hopes it's appropriate of the rep. Besides, most people here high rep or low post rubbish sometimes.
I suppose it does feel bad to be minus repped without having any idea why if you take it serious enough, though. With positive you usually know why, but negative often comes from the clear blue sky for little to no obvious reason.

But the negative points would not have occurred from the clear blue sky, especially not without some reason, if the name of the member providing negative point would have to be in the message display screen.
I think anyone thought twice before he pulled that measure, and many doubts would be resolved.
For example: who is that member, and especially WHY ?
