Didn't see this one coming...Hope they'll react to this quickly, the current prize is just ridicilous. There was nothing wrong with the old version, even though it was rarely used: now, instead of the wonderfull new T-34-85 I'm only seeing these being used. Another slow, tough and boring tank to a faction that didn't really need it. It's pretty much identical to the IS-1 now, so even if the prize was raised I see no reason for it being like this. CP decrease and slight speed increase would have been the way to make this tank more interesting, nothing as radical as this.

In fact, I don't really know if it was necessary to increase KV-85's armor. May be it's a sort of justification for a price increase?
Have you actually seen the KV85 ingame since the last patch? Yeah, the Jap Ho-Ri II isn't 1850MP anymore. Yeah, some UK and USA AFV:s received 25MP-50MP prize reductions that were quite welcome. But it's no minor boost giving the SU a tank more or less identical to the IS-1, for 850MP. Nobody here hates the USSR as a faction: the cold fact is that this new tank quite well ruins the balance in Ger vs USSR tank battles.

Well, I wouldn't be too very bothered - if it's REALLY all that bad, it will sure get a fix soon enough. Have faith in the DMS.

Once again, I don't see why it was necessary to touch this unit at all - it was a rare artifact and more than situational - a perfect place for it to be. Nobody bought it, 'cause it was (yes, it was) useless - true. But that's no reason to make it a main RA's battle tank.

So you are open for any fictional changes: Increasing armor and penetration stats or decreasing it with no technical sources or need to do this. Or what is with prototypes and other projects of WW2 (every faction gets one)?

Sounds completely horrible for me as the game would destroy it charakter and become a boring standart strategy game.

Couldn't agree more - this kind of approach will kill everything that makes this game so good and so unique, if it prevails. This isn't C&C, and some just have to f***ing deal with it.

The problem with KV85 buff is that this is heavy tank and I'm oppose against any heavy tanks buffs because leaning towards this ones makes game static and boring.

All the other changes are directed to promote tank destroyers and medium tanks and that is fine. If DMS would try to promote some Soviet medium tanks and medium tank destroyers then I would have no problem with that.

The KV-85 was not really used much before. Many good players thought of it as somewhat useless because other tanks like the T34/85 could do the same job. I frequently used the KV-85.

So what did I use it for? To fight and kill StuGs, with a KV-85 there was less risk to lose involved. I would also keep it once Panthers hit the field. I did use it to deny the enemy anything weaker or equal to StuG IIIs and StuH 42s because then the next step up in the food chain would be the Tiger I at 1200MP. I then would lure the Tiger closer with my KV-85 and try to destroy it with other means, which would give me an advantage of around 400MP and upon destruction of either tank even much more over my opponent.

From now on buying a KV-85 just feels cheap, just like emplacement spamming felt. Hence I decided to go for the (new) T-34/85 and stick with it. The new models are just looking so much better than the old ones, even though that for my taste the damaged textures are not showing enough damage yet and they could use some more dirt when in action, the models and skins themselves are just awesome.
    Best regards!

Had you complained about the game character before the KV-85 upgrade? There are quite a few prototypes in the game, post war tanks, extremely rare tanks that saw little/no action at the end of the war or tanks with a completely unrealistic behaviour. Are you happy with 105 that never misses? Are you happy with the super fast turret of the Tiger? One more custom tank less or more is not going to change anything in a game that is not a WW2 simulator.

So, as much as I would like to see more historically accurate tanks, what really matters is how they are priced, balanced and how they affect the game play. Well priced prototype/custom tank might actually affect the game play in a positive way (we have already lots of examples of it in the game), but is it the case with the current KV-85?

And I agree with Toomek and Ritterlich, Soviets would be a lot more interesting and fun fraction to play against if the medium tanks like the T-34s were more promoted instead of heavy tanks. But this is a bit more complex issue and it is related to the map design and map settings. I don't blame people for liking heavy tanks as medium tank tactics are a bit limited. On top of that, one of my friends is a bit concerned about the heavy tank and rocket artillery trend emerging in the game.

Soviet Union is already the most versatile and forgiving of all the nations.
Any worry about Soviet Union being OP is warrant.

I criticized some specific developments before, yes. I also kept in mind that this is not a 100% simulation and should not be something like that.
BUT this series from "Soldiers" over "FoW" ,... up to Assault Squad had a great focus on the realism/simulation charakter and this made it to an outstanding strategy game. You have to weigh every proposal very carefully and inventing new armor for tanks is graver than a wrong turret speed. Equal those things is the total wrong way (in my eyes) as it relativise any possible changes in the future.
The prototypes/rare tanks in the game at least participated in combats or existed at that time which is an improvement (compared to Men of War).
