    Question Tanks turning on Spot

    Is there a way to make tanks to do skid turning not just tracks turning in opposite direction and turning on spot?,because historically only the Tiger tanks and few british tank could do that and a nother question: I've noticed in the vehicle config (def files) that a vehicle can only have a maximum of five forward/reverse gear give it more and an error massage will appear is it some sort of limitation of game or is there a way to change these?
    note:sorry for being realism junkie...

    I wish there was because part of the engine issue lies with the tracked vehicles turning in spot, if they are on edge of entity like bridge or river side it will cause glitch where they clip and usuually fly into the air, but nothing can be done about this, however if more tanks were unable to turn in spot as historically was true then the bug would occur less.

    That would great but also I've noticed two wheeled guns also turn their wheels in opposite direction and what about the vehicle transmisson part max number of forward and reverse gears is 5 can be less but can't be more however german tanks having 6 or more gears.
    also it gives the error message:Block Terminator Expected

    Also not a fan of World of Tanks but has some quite few nicely done features and mechanics.

    I'm not an expert but I know when I was giving the stuka the 20 mm cannons, just adding it to the def file did not work. It gave me a block terminator error. So I kept working at it and realized that the MDL file had no bone for gun rotation... Once I copied the IL-2's bone gun_rot code over to the stuka's MDL, the guns worked fine. Perhaps the gears on the tanks is a similar issue? Both DEF and MDL need new code?

    Block Terminator Expected means that the .mdl file is missing either a { or a }. Each block starts with a "{" and ends with a "}". Inserted between these two, there can be several { and several } (but always the same number of each).

    Go over your .mdl file and make sure that you haven´t deleted one by mistake. And if the .mdl file doesnt contain any errors, then the error is inside the .def file (or vice versa).

    Well I don't think that any of those brakets are missing checked a few times and haven't touched the mdl files.

    Also note the arrow pointing at the gears line.
    Maybe hardcoded in the game engine?

    It might be. However you can have five gears (tested it in the editor by removing 0.7 and 0.9 in your example) and that did work at least.

    So actually there is no way of giving more gears...,and how about the turning on spot thing can it be disabled or removed?

    you can have more gears possibly if u redefine some properties and set defines in the game same with turning thats the beauty of mow and how moddable it is, however unless you know someone who understands a lot of the files under properties and set it maybe long process not sure. Of course I would first look into mow modding community and possibly bestway russian forums for answers because there maybe something like this that was done by someone.
