    Mantlet

Is there a way to make the gun mantlet on tanks to act as a spaced armour like in World of Tanks and off course in reality:

or at least if the mantlet gets penetrated the turret doesn't get broken, because behind the mantlet on most tanks theres the frontal armour, like on the picture above the ISU-122 spg.

Personally I do not have any idea. BTW I moved this thread in the General Mod Discussion. It is a matter more related to the 3d modelling, and I hope that your question may here find more expert modders.

I believe its already in the game, the mantlet and turrets have different armour, if you shoot the mantlet and the round penetrates, if its still got enough penetration value to penetrate the turret frontal armour then it will.

(This is if i'm understanding your question correctly)

thx, sorry for posting in the wrong place.

Yes I see but still if the mantlet gets penetrated then that still mean that the turret gets broken, and I think that it doesn't take the frontal turret armour values aswell. for example: The panzer VIe Tiger tank had around 100-120 thick mantlet plus the frontal turret armour that meant that it had around 200-220mm thick effective armour.
