Gamespy taken over.

Hi

Since recently I cannot access my Gamespy Account anymore because it reroutes me to IGN. IGN demands to pull information from my Googlemail account. I gave it, but I was never rerouted to my Gamespy account management page. I can neither edit my ingame name, nor change the password, nor switch users.

Can anybody tell me wth is going on there and how to get onto my Gamespy account?

login.gamespy.com takes you directly to IGN now. No more chance to get into it like mentioned before. Can there be a guide on how to change the ingame name, or access your profile? A buddy of mine bought the game but cannot play it because of that.


More precise: The email which the username and MoWAS account is bound to is known. The password to formerly login to Gamespy is too.
When trying to login to IGN/formerly Gamespy, neither is the email known to them (checked by forgot password function) nor does a login with the username work. A Gamespy login does not exist at all anymore.

When you log in, don't click on "My account" but on your nickname after welcome, then you get to another page where there is a options link. Click on that and you'll see "Add a Unique Nickname and Edit User Details " link.

use google and search for login.gamespy.com, go first link and there you got options where you can access without the IGN trouble

A new step by step guide on how to set up an account needs to be stickied I guess. I've seen it so often that new people got problems and now that Gamespy changed, so do the old ones *sic*

Yeah, I've heard about this problem from one of my acquaintances just recently. It sucks how these guys treat users.

I logged in using my IGN account thats tied to gamespy and I dont need to link it with any of the social sites, there are similar settings to what gamespy had but you right it seems you cannot change nicknames anymore.

You possibly can try using gamespy arcade as that should still take your gamespy account even if you have no ign account and allow to change id... once signed in press CTRL+E to open the profile editor. There you can change your nickname or GSID.
