And the fact each soldier in MoW has its own brain, individual AI, thats why you see every soldier act differently, whereas CoH uses one AI sytem that controls all i believe.

Although i liked CoH, it was just too limiting for me, hope they improve on that.

The complex vehicle model of Men of War gives much more interesting gameplay from my point of view. Once you have gotten used to MOW model. The simplistic points model vehicle of CoH seems childish. The games appeal to different audiences. If you want a quick arcade style game with friends. Go for CoH. If you want a little more in-depth experience. Go for MoW.

Exactly. It's kinda annoying to see commets like "rubbish CoH2 will never beat MoW2" this early, when next to zero details have been given bout the games. Besides, it's like comparing some arcare flying game to IL2 Sturmovik: they don't compete with each other. Different games for different audiences of different interests. Me, I cannot play CoH anymore because I'm interested in WWII history and the realistic view, so I guess the simulator kinda guy. But most of my friends appreciate different things like ease of approach and competitive side, the WWII setting being only a setting for the fun. After all this is the most common preference, CoD is more popular than Red Orchestra ect. (ofc marketing has an impact too).

Don't get blinded by the things you regard valuable. I'm happy COH2 is coming, even though I guess I won't play it. New games always bring some fresh things that affect the industry, even if the game wasn't anything you'd be intersted in.
I lost my manhood years ago. I don't really know what keeps me going anymore.

Unfortunately I think the audience for COH2 is much larger than for MOW. I just hope they don't decide to take the game in that direction and hold their niche. Ultimately the game should cater for both audiences. Easy entry, but with a large potential for expanding your game.

Then, you should play Combat Mission: Battle of Normandy. In terms of PC ww2 experience, AS doesn't even touch it.

I am not so much afraid that CoH 2 would steal players due to its appeal, I am more afraid that MoW will lose its appeal due to, for example, the poor ranking system and overplayed maps and boring repetitive expansions like Red Tide and Condemned Heroes.

Yes in terms of realism MoW:AS is not like Combat mission. But compared to CoH things are completly different.
I think Men of war offers a nice blend of realism but at the same time fun multiplayer gameplay. I never really fell in love with any of the more realistic Combat mission and Theater of war.

I think the scale in AS is nice, good detail and alot of stratagies that makes sense. Unlike CoH where there is almost no tactics that comes close to what it was in real life combat.
Troops running up in the open vs a tank and beats it ass without taking any damage, silly special abilities, silly tank combat etc etc...

Yeah, my mistake. I should have said relative realism, MoW is a nice blend of real life things and fantasy. Not a simulator, could be modded to be one though.

Am I missing on, or is it not quite adequate to compare a step-by-step poorly animated and overall rather poorly visualized game with the best and the most detailed and realistic RTS (unless someone can name any other RTS, that excels it in any respect of those listed)?

Perhaps you could say MOW is (could be (might be)) an real time action "chess" game with ww2 units.

COH is an (action) RTS. This game is more of an RTT.
