CoH 2 Announced!

I just read CoH 2 has been announced for a planned release of early 2013.

Obviously more detailed discussion about that game can take place on the Relic forums, but I thought it is important to be aware of other similar RTS titles in development and what impact they will have on the MoW community and plans for a MoW2.

I loved CoH, but for me MoW has always had a deeper appeal.

I do think the announcement of CoH 2 is a key factor in what DMS do next.

yeah, DMS could take something from CoH 2, But im sure MOW2 Will be way better.

Unless they decide to essentially copy the things that make MoW the best RTS around, which wouldn't be hard for a dev team of that size. I remember trying Tales of Valor for 15 mins or so, noticed they had already introduced a DC or their own back then, even though it didn't have any real uses in that game (correct me if I'm wrong). So surely they'll have MoW gameplay mechanics in mind while developing their new game.

i am sure they are going to copy alot from mow and as , remaining always an arcade game , but the war is open you all know coh2 will ''steal'' some players from the comunity

CoH 2 could be interessting, CoH was one of my favorite stratagy games...untill i found MoW.
I will definatly try out CoH 2 but I find it unlikely it will truly compete vs Assault squad and even less vs Men of war 2.
Even with all the polish, big budget and large commmunity...It still won't be enough for me to not cry when i see tanks with Hitpoints that can only shoot at targets 20 meter away.

Who knows maybe they are going a bit more towards realism, learn a few things from MoW though I doubt it will change that much. Since it has alot of fans and alot of fans tend to lead to less gameplay gamble.

Yeah i also remember that completly silly Direct control copy they had.
The entire Panzerkreigh gamemode was a complete joke, you could choose between a Panther, Panzer IV and Hotchkiss tank. I mean just choosing between a Panzer IV or a Panther seems pretty retared. Because everyone who isnt 10 know the Panther is or atleast should be superior.
It gets even sillier when you get to pick between a light french tank from 1940 or one of the most iconic tanks of all time.
And the direct control was really unnecassary since the tanks had no ranges too shoot from anyway and its not like you could aim for tracks and disable them.

But since both CoH expansions has been so critizied who knows maybe the crew have learned something or atleast gotten kicked.
Then CoH 2 could end up pretty good.

My understanding is that relic doesn't have the original staff that made the original COH magical goodness. And if they kept the people behind OF then I don't have much hope for a logical game.

I just hope that the economy evolves beyond the Z-Steel soldiers model cut into three resources. So much praise for a copy.

Realistic infantary movement, fantastic fire\explosions effects and overall graphic atmosphere is the only things that atracts me in COH and make me forget about MOW: AS for a while, the more is that COH is a bulls... arcade childish game.

If MOW:AS had that features I listed above, then it should be unbeatable, no matter if Relic came with COH 2, 3, 4 or 5.

Playing MOW makes me feel like a captain commanding a squad.
Playing COH makes me feel like a kid in front of a pinball arcade.

I loved COH until I discovered MOW:AS.

Anyway I hope that COH 2 will force guys from MOW developing new engine features.

These were not made my DMS. Condemmed heors, Red Tide and Vietnam were made by other comapnies. DMS had propably was not involved in there development. Men of War 2 propably will come. Men of war is not a game you can create in a year. All RTS games take several years to make. Men of War will take longer because of its complexity.

yeah ik since dms only made mow and assault squad,those where awesome games.. i wish dms announce something new... like new engine on next game... in my opinion mow needs new engine.. dunno why... but i don't think that more of men of war series gonna come out... since the game is not very popular not much income... ah nvm its pretty hard to explain. but maybe you will undesrtand... what i want to say... that they probably... if they.. gonna make... so its gonna be same engine and few new levels..
