1.17.5 patch installing problem

Hello guys, glad to be here and join this bunch of people!

I bought recently men of war in the UK shop Game (as a digital download) and it is now on the retail patch version of 1.11.3. However, most of the MP games require the version 1.17.5 to be installed. However, I tried to install this patch as a full patch, also a a cut patch but I am still getting the following error:

,,The setup has detected that no version of Men of War is installed. The update requires a previous version of the game to be installed. Setup cannot continue."

I would appreciate any help, I really have no idea what to do. Thanks a lot!

I do not remember correctly, but you should be able to create a folder on your desktop, then un-compress the content of the patch installer inside those folder and manually move and overwrite the files.
Yes, it is an horrible system but this game series was plagued by those horrible patch systems.

Thank you very much!!! It worked, I used a universal extractor for that and it worked like a charm!
