Hi All,

I have started compiling a collection of sounds for use in missions by mission makers..

To kick things off I offer a collection of soldier voices from MOW and Red Tide.....

Complete Pack V3: link removed

Complete pack V3 is all human talk and vehicle talk sounds from FOW, MOW, RedTide and MOW Vietnam combined into one pack. USA, ENG, GER, RUS ( no japanese yet )

I hope mission makers find these useful and use them in missions.......

Hi Mopar,

I have to say that i didn't agree you to give my job to others: you never asked me to do that and also you do not even mention my name.

I thank you to helped me to find some little bugs in my english voices, but you already know that I've spend a lot of days to do it (find, unpack all this new sounds in various compressed/scripted formats, and i had to find special programs to do it and then edit them one by one with audacity to suppress pops and noises, and then normalise them, and then saved all this various wave files to same wave format) and you consider all this job was yours?

Do you're own work, maps and missions, work by yourself instead of simply tweak that others do, and then you'll realise how much efforts is needed to propose a great mission to others.

You can propose every sounds Fow, Red tide and other as you want, but i ask you to suppress all my sound files in your links.

My sincere apologies Bass, I never meant to cause any problems for anyone.....

I had meant to delete your extra sound but I simply forgot.... I will remove the V3 pack immediately.....

V3 pack removed......

Once again Bass, It was a simple oversight on my part ( my bad ).....

You should see it as a compliment not as an offense, Bass

And in my opinion with publishing maps / scripts etc. to the public you give your approval to use them. Or did you for example asked Relic or THQ to use sounds from Company of heroes? I think they wouldn't be so happy about it too especially as MoW plays in the same league...

But don't get me wrong. I think it is a question of style to ask before you use someone else's work. And I told him to ask for permission.
But to be honest I don't think a Modmaker should prohibit using his work / material as long as it helps to improve the game we all like to play!

You're right,
I have always been willing to give my work to others when I'm asked nicely.

I have already accepted several times to provide maps, skins for other mods (azureka, sturm, gsm, community maps pack)

I know Mopar has not thought about it and thought it best for the good of the community but I confess that when I saw he was communicating my work (including sounds of the Tiger and 88 gun) without me request, and without even mention my name, my heart missed a beat and I was very upset (although I am quite a calm usual).

It is true that some of the sounds come from Coh mods, Blitzkrieg and other RTS games but it was very complicated and required a lot of work and efforts to decode and modify them, then sort and edit them to be able usable in Mow.

Sorry to have had a strong reaction, but you would be done even if it was about your work.

Actually I see it as an honour if other Modmakers use my maps / scripts (which took me hours of "work") for their projects.

But as I said it would have been better to ask before he uploaded it...

I agree and I do not blame him most was this, because he immediately deleted the file, and i know he has done in excess of enthusiasm.

Also, i have in mind to propose soon a "German elite mod" with all my skins (tanks with bushes), all my new units (2 and 12 ZZ, Fallshirmjagers, Waffen, tank crew, medic etc..) and this sounds), playable both in mp and solo...

I hope he will excuse me for my hard reaction. (We started good cooperation both, and it would be a shame not to continue, if he want).

Yes bass, I am happy to continue helping..... I learnt a valuable lesson though, check all files in folders and sub folders are correct before uploading for others and check no one else's content is present unless authorised by that person...

However it was a simple mistake on my part ( my bad )

Hi All,

Mortar Firing Sound Replacement Sound Mod.

Replaces MOWAS stock mortar firing sound with a realistic sound captured by myself from a WW2 documentary series called World At War.. ( Episode 23 - The Pacific ) - There are 6 good examples of mortars firing in this episode alone and if modders want some variety I can capture others... Let me know ????

Mortar is a USA M1 or M2 mortar firing on Japanese positions on the pacific island of Iowa Jima...

I can also capture some german mortars sounds ( sgrw34/42 ) if modders ask, but the USA and GER mortars sound very similar.

This mod / sound effect is free to use by anyone, just remember who made it available for you and who spent the time and effort to have an authentic sound effect.

( in other words please give credit where it is due, especially if its someone else's work )
