Adding more skirmish units & altering rifle reload times?

I did see the pinned topic on adding multiplayer units to single player (LAN) skirmish, however, i'm a novice with game files and need a step by step idiots guide. So is there one?:)

Also i find rifle reload times (between each shot, not putting a new magazine in) awful, how would one alter just rifle times?

It'd be super awesome if someone could help on the first problem. I did scour the forums, but i couldn't see any existing mods/threads on how to add multiplayer units :(

What you need to do to alter reload time I think is, go to resource in your game directory, then set, then find the gun you would like to change and open the file in notepad. Once open i think it is recharge time that you are looking for or reload, something like that and change the number value. Make sure you keep a back up of all files you change so you don't screw up your game, and make the new artillery set into a mod so you can turn the changes on and off.

Ahh, coolio. Do you (or anyone else) know anything about adding the multiplayer unit menu into skirmish? I've seen lots of people posting in various threads about wanting this, but there are no decent guides/walkthroughs for it. Adding those units would be awesome, and add a whole new dimension to skirmish (it's awfully stale already, and i've only had the game a few days).

Okay I might be able to make a video on it if your desperate are you talking about one with subcategories eg. click on heavy armor then select unit or just one one the side with just the units and know categories? the latter is easiest but they both arent hard just the first one is very long and boring.

The "Official guide" says you can add the mutliplayer units into skirmish, so basically you have the multiplayer menu available in skirmish. But that guide is very vague for people who don't know how to mod, it just assumes you already know a bunch of stuff already. I've no idea how modding any MoW game works, i know absolutely nothing :(

I'm not sure on your description of the menus, all i know is how the multiplayer/skirmish ones work, where you click a category and then all units available in that category appear and you pick which one you want to buy.

I'm pretty sure you'd get lots of praise from a bunch of people on here if you did a complete guide :)

Okay I think you mean the first option and yes I'll make a vid of it. The first option is what is used in multi-player, and I'm currently making one for my new mission. It isn't hard just repetitive and boring, but looks awesome when your done!
