General Description:
I started making it just for me and my friends, but I added so much that I wanted to give to the public.
Its my first mod, and my first steps in FoW modding.

This mod will now be mostly about Air and Naval Battles, but Land will be considered because of the use of the vehicles from PaPP. Some new additions to the Airplanes, and maybe I can get some new ones modeled or skinned and we can get more units :)

Mod is mostly in Testing Stages, but the old 1.0 version will be putted online again, so you can enjoy a Maus battle :)

For the time it will only feature just 1 fast edited map (So the mod can be enjoyed 100%) and 2 other maps.
I used some of the things from Jarea's ww2game0.9. (Just borrowed codes etc.) and the vehicles from Cromtec's PaPP, and I've added some myself.
This is the first mod (released) that has naval capabilities in Multiplayer. So you can roam around with the common naval units in the sea. (On the fast edited map).

I the next coming days.
The first release had some annoying bugs which devastated the whole game.
But people who have tried it, seemed to enjoy it too.

Me and a friend (Fiffa) are just testing and search for bugs.
I have to set down the armor penetration of the "Kügelblitz", it took out 2 IS3 in 2 shots x)

I have to thanks Jozor for helping me with coding problems, and Fiffa that Piffed up the Maastrich map.

I'll link up the first version again, because the next release will take a bit longer then I suspected :?

I'm gonna stabilize the Naval units agains each other, so it will be more of a 45-55% vs 45-55% against failing/winning. So you need skills to take down your opponent faster!

I have made a X-Fire League, so mod-players can keep tracking each other, and I can post live news, since I use X-fire pretty much!

I've modelled them according to scale drawings and to size numbers from books. The unit setup in Max is set to meters (metric). Obviously the unit setup in the game is slightly different but nobody seems to know accurate numbers. So, if I make my models 10% smaller or bigger for example, somebody will say they are too big or small.
See the stug thread for example. It's not a simple resize in Max. You have to remake the volumes or you will get error messages in the exporter. Unless there are more precise scale numbers I don't want to resize them.

yeah theres one more prototype tank their missing but i cant put my finger on it i thinks a german prototype tank that they only made one and disbanded it in 44 so they can make the 7 maus tanks but they were to big the start with and you right about the E-100 that was a modified tiger 2 so it should look a lil like the Tiger 2, thats why it was called the tiger Maus cuz it was a tiger 2 with a Maus turret wel one of the test turrets anyways but same gun 128mm and 75 mm with a 7.92mm MG in the turret and a 7.92 mg42 in the hull. same with the Maus.

take the same concept as the E-100 now and put it on the tiger 2 cuz thats all it was. and the prototype i metion was a similer version of the E-100 on the jagdtiger i belive but do research and see if im wrong or right ok.

Your kinda right.
The E-100 was supposed to be in the new E-Series (Entwicklung).
They where supposed to take over the ordinary tanks that was produced at 1944-45.
(Panzer IV, Panther, Tiger etc).

I don't really want to start a Prototype tank discussion, so please so on mod :P

Besides, my personal opinion is - everything bigger than Maus is simply useless. What would you do with it? It had thin armour, no way to hide... and maps in FoW are far from being able to field proper ranged weapons...

use it for frontline mode ya know to siege the enemy side, i kinda agree anything bigger then the maus(german for mouse) is useless but i like the karl becuase its a big howitzer and its a gun that no1 realy sees as a weapon that was used in WW2 it was just like the super guns of the rail guns of the Dora and gustav and the K-5.

Technically the Pz E100 has only higher width because of its side plates.
The Maus was both longer, higher and heavier than the E100, and because of that the E100 was twice as fast as Maus.
I cannot really compare them in-game, but I believe its fine how they are.

For the KARL 600mm.
For those who doesn't know, the animation, model etc. is included in Outfront 2, and since I have no experience in modeling, thats the only place I possible can get it, but if I release it with my mod, my mod will be declared an Illegal mod.

I must say myself that I have made my own mod which I haven't made public, just sharing with friends.
Anyways.

I'm open for contributions and if anyone wants to help the mod, just PM me!

The Tiger-Maus and the E-100 are basically the same vehicle:
When Krupp was ordered to make the Maus turret for the super heavy tank of Dr. Porsche, they thought they could do a better job and started on their own version, using suspension parts of the Tiger Ausf B (kingtiger). Hence why some authors called it the Tiger-Maus.
However, F. Porsche had better relations with the Furher and convinced him to go with his project. The Krupp project got rejected. Krupp then managed to convince the head of the waffenprufambt 6 to reuse their development within the "Entwicklung/Einheitsfahrgestell series" or short E-series. To comply with the specs of that program, they had to change the torsion bar suspension system into an external spring coil suspension, so that maintenance would become easier. That tank then became known as the E-100...

Contrary to what some have said here, there were only 2 Maus tanks made.
And both the Tiger-Maus and the E-100 were NOT made from a modified Kingtiger chassis.
Using a few parts of other tanks to reduce cost price is not the same as using its chassis…
The E-100 hull got dragged to the UK and after a few years on display and testing it was scrapped...sob..

I’m interested and want to trade models with anyone modelling paperpanzers (German, UK and US only) as I’m making a mod for CNC3. Sadely, most of the models shown here are already made…If you guys are interested I'll show a few models, but I do not want to highjack this topic... :)
I also have an extensive library of books and 3views...The only thing i'm usually short of , is free time... sigh... :grandpa:

Get me a map editor and ill help idk where to get the map editor for FOW oh and can you give me another link to dl the Gore and Limb mod cuz the link on the forum dosnt work for me. oh and about the KARL dont make it public and if it is declaired an illeagl mod just get permission from bestway and ubisoft to use the KARL thats how my clans Mod DEVGRP does things they contact the game developers and ask them some ppl are nice about some are rude and say no and some threaten you with being arrested and they'll threaten with prison time and extremly obserd charges. but it takes a bit of luck and patiance.

The Karl will be included in the upcoming sequel to FoW, called Outfront. Thats why Orrie cant use the Karl in his mod. I dont think that the developers will allow him to use stuff from an unpublished game no matter what he tells them... :)

But when Outfront 2 has been released, then its a different matter.

I See the Karl as a weapon used on frontline mode but ill use it on all modes just to pound the enemy into submission, Anyways also maybe after you put the Karl in you can put the rail guns in it on some maps, Not the Big Boy Bully the Gustav or Dora, i Mean the K-5 Rail Gun, maybe but thats up to you.

News:

Okey, after some slacking (and testing of new stuff ^^) I've decided that the mod will mostly concentrate on Air and Naval battles. Most ground units will be removed, but some will stay. Like Anti-Air units and maybe some tanks =)

And I have also made a fast site, so I can have everything on one place, and have it a little more tidier :P

Please let stay the E-100, Maus, the anti-air vechicle which kills every thing O.o, that awesome camera, the T-28 The IS-3 ( I think someone should had the T-44 into this mod, it would be cool with IS-3, both are late tanks)

Sure they will stay!

But the T44 (as I have seen it) is kinda crappy compared to the original vehicles, and the mod will mostly be about Air and Naval. Maybe a few missions where you should support an offensive? Only the time can judge that!
And btw, My computer is at repairs so modding is halted for 2-3 weeks.
Don't worry, I have backup files :P

I tried ALL the standard missions to see if the new ones replaced any of them with no luck. I wasted half a day on this. I googled for hours without finding any useful info. Don't you think you could have put proper instructions in the readme file instead of expecting ppl to read your mind? That's what instructions are for.

I only just got into the mod scene for this game and tried this out but I can't figure out how to start it. I activated the mod in the options menu but what are you supposed to do then? I tried ALL the standard missions to see if the new ones replaced any of them with no luck. I wasted half a day on this. I googled for hours without finding any useful info. Don't you think you could have put proper instructions in the readme file instead of expecting ppl to read your mind? That's what instructions are for.

Its meant only for Multiplayer.
I haven't changed anything with Singleplayer missions or stats.

Just registered to say this. I love this mod, it made me and my friends play FoW again, which was getting pretty boring. There's nothing like blowing up a Maus just by crashing a plane into it :D

The only two suggestions I could think of, is maybe fixing the plane camera (if you can). It stops when the plane goes above a certain height (which isn't that far off the ground). Could you make it do a chase cam of some kind? So that, when I turn, it stays aligned with the tail? It would make planes really fun to fly

Other than this, the only other thing you could maybe do is make the barge spawn with all it's guns manned. These two are the only problems with this awesome mod

The public version out now was really only a early test version, so I could see what people thought of it etc.
All these things are being fixed on, but I must sadly say that the next version will be released for Men of War (an a beta for Outfront 2 A1).
If I gonna release a final version for the Faces of War version, it will likely not to happened.
I could change some minor things, but thats it.

In a couple of days I will post and update of what I have done so far. ;)

Before it was remove at Filefront it has over 1500 downloads, but I guess around 1000 (Some may download it a couple of times, and some might not play it at all).

Tho, I'm not playing Faces of War anymore, so I don't know what mods people are playing.

I have been playing your expanded battles mod on FoW usually a 4 player game.. its nice fun having air battles... 1 flaw i noticed is in air battle mode gametype. When a player can keep training many planes it lags the whole map and becomes unplayable... is it possible to add an option so players can only have 1 plane at a time and can only train another plane when their current plane is destroyed? this is the way you intended the mod to be played right? 1 plane each person having air battles in direct control.

Also the way planes spawning in air, would be nice if they spawn on ground and you need to take off.. perhaps from a runway / airfield each side of map.

Players should not get points for crashing their plane into another plane.. only by shooting it down should give points. I noticed the guy who crashes the most planes into enemies gets the highest score even though he didnt shoot anyone down.

Great work on the mod :)

yeah but not just in the mod, in the normal game without mods the ground is the same as air for planes, only objects / obstacles on maps can harm them (apart from enemy gun fire), planes can also go underwater ;) i hope that gets fixed on MoW

I cannot fix the lag issue since its becase of the Game Engine.
This is fixed in MoW.

The underground thingy is still in Men of War, but in theory, really easy to fix because you just have to say that "ground" and vehicles that are "airborne" collides. :)
