NAT Issues

I have tried everything and I still get the "no response from server" when trying to join some games. I have opened the ports, I have even completely turned off firewalls just to see if it would fix it. I can connect to about 20% of the games i try to connect to. I tried hosting one the other day and only 1 person out of 6 was able to join it, the rest got the "no response from server".

When I am in the lobby, all except 1 or 2 of the games listed has the ! mark. Just seems weird that i can connect to some and not others.

Is there anything else I can possibly try?

I connected straight to my modem without the router tonight and didn't have any issues. I would really like to keep the router on so the wireless works for the rest of the house. Any ideas on what settings I might try in the router?

Still having the issues. It just doesn't make sense how it can connect to some people and not others.

You guys have any kind of routers or other hardware forming up ur home lan? If so what kind, sometimes specific routers or their firmware have issues with specific apps/games. Always make a post what router u using and what firmware. Have you tried plaing without router(if possible) just to make sure its the router thats causing the problem?

Further, the NAT issues are more cause of Gamespy lobby matchmaking than anything else I believe.

I am behind a belkin router. Opened all ports. Followed all instructions on portforwarding.com for my router. Everything. Only way I can consistently join games is to disconnect my router and run direct to my modem or put my PC in the DMZ on my router. Really hate doing that for security reasons.

Just seems like if it was just my router I couldn't connect to anyone, but I can connect to some but not all.

Well, you joined me the other day and I just have a gateway, so maybe its the other people + Gamespy hating your guts

Like I said in the post right before that, I have to have my pc in the dmz on my router(basically removed from the router) in order to play. Which is what i did before I joined your game :)

It's probably gamespy jerking around, because yesterdway i couldn't join up to 80% of the servers, I even couldn't join my friends server... However today I was able to join everywhere.
