...am I the only one who thinks its horrible? It's spam fest at its worst. Maybe I'm missing something.

Ye I don't like, but I've never liked it.
It's not fun for either side. The spawns on attacker can get camped by the enemy sooo easily. And with the silly penetration on tanks now the enemy can kill you before you are even in range of them.
A defender its just a slog of putting mines everywhere and tank traps and trying to kill as much stuff as possible.
Not nice, but hopefully it can be improved.

Its fun I think, complete chaos. Something different then normal AS. The only thing that needs looked at is the ability to spawn camp quite regularly. Otherwise its a great improvement to frontlines.
