View Full Version : To "spawn kill" or not?

Just now I got kicked out of testing session for "spawn killing".

This novice player didn't protect his flank and instead just went forward to the zones. I naturally stacked some infantry on that flank and proceeded to attack him from the side. He spawned the Nashorn and tried to take out my IS-1 which was in range of his spawn. After he missed with nashorn he screamed "NO SPAWN KILL". Than his Nashorn was gone.

I replied that he didn't protect his flank and it was only natural for me to advance - there was nothing to stop me from advancing. Shortly after I was removed from the game.

So what do others think? Should one go as far as he can if there are no defenses or everyone should just pretend that there is invisible magic line that stops all units before they reach players spawn?

If you let the enemy in your spawn you made a some serious mistakes. Arguably it's not 'fair' to go and stand near the spawn, but you only have yourself to blame if you allow the enemy to be there.

What a crybaby. It is one thing to spawnkill excessively, but you did what you had to and took out his Nashorn, which posed a threat to you.

Just so I am not the black sheep here... (I think youre talking about our game here):
the one you spawnkilled was constantly telling me to kick you.. so I told you to stop it, because I was annoyed by all that, and well, you didn't stop and he continued annoying me ;) I would have never kicked you because of just spawn-attacking, but you told me to kick you after a while! Also, it's not nice to call people idiots just because they hate spawncamping... and you have to admit MOW an be a pain for novice players!

To topic: I never had problems with it :P be it because I protect my valuable things like arty or because the enemy is too stupid...

Who is more crybaby? Who cries because his spawn is attacked (which is certainly understandable) or who cries because he has been kicked from a game...

My friends and me have been kicked from some games just because winning, with no more reason... And we don't come here to cry...

Just forgot it and go to other room. Next time if the host says no spawn kill, dont do spawn kill...

Depends. Judging by Der Landser's post and assuming he's speaking the truth he's certainly not acting like a crybaby, which the one he "spawnkilled" seemed to do, judging by the emotional response in all caps. Whoever complained about the spawnkilling should just get over it. On smaller maps if one side wins overwhelmingly some degree of spawnkilling is sometimes inevitable.

Let's not make this into one-game personal argument. What happened - happened, even though I don't remember insulting anyone by saying "idiot" and stuff.

The real problem here is that you have to go by host's invisible rules, and to wvb who said that I should get over it and go to other room - surprise: there is only one AS room going on most of the time.

The point of this thread is to get a picture of what majority thinks and so far I can tell that feelings are divided.

I myself will push (any)game to its boundaries set by developer, regardless of someones knowledge of the game. I will get into your spawn with heavy tanks if you let me. What I want to know is if I am doing something wrong that majority oppose by advancing as far as I'm allowed ingame?

I don't want to either ruin my experience(by getting kicked out and than having to wait out a round only to play the next by host's rules) or that of other people who will - after I'm gone before the round ends - be outnumbered by the enemy.
