Okay, so here's the problem. I finished modeling my CAR-15, textured it and got it ready for export. when I exported it, 3ds max gave me the error "mesh car-15 has degenerate triangles! Use "WELD"." Okay so I did that, but after a threshold of 3.008mm the gun starts to severly deform. So I restored the gun back to the point before I welded it, I defined the gun by coping over some .set files and changing the def file for the car-15. Okay but know when in game the soldier holds the gun backwards, the muzzle pointed at his chest! I changed the pivot to align with world, so that stopped sideways position of the gun it was originally in before the backwords position, but what do I do to change the gun so it faces forward and will be able to aim correctly.

P.S: I managed for one second to get the soldier to hold the gun right forward, but he still couldn't aim correctly. He pointed the gun downwards at the ground the entire time so he can't shoot it horizontal.

Please anybody that can fix this problem, help! I really need it! Thanks ahead

I suggest merging the mg42 example file in your GEM plugin install folder into your car15 scene. Set the Car15 up to have the same positioning of foresight3/foresight3 axis, gun axis etc as the mg42. This should fix it. Look in Hierarchy Tab and use "affect pivot only" button to rotate/move the positioning of CAR-15's axis.

Weld issue is wierd, welding usually works.

Rule of thumb to try:
use centimeters as units of measurement in max scene

If message appears at end upon export try this:
select all in "1" Vert Select mode.
Then use: Weld->Weld Threshold 0.025 cm

This will only weld overlaying open edge verts or ones simply not welded together yet.

I solved this problem months ago now, I was a noob then, and still am, but I am better noob now if you will.

And why bump a 2 month old thread if you´ve already solved the problem "months" ago?

Thread locked.
