Realism Skin Pack for Men of War

Here is a compilation of all my old skins that where meant for release, but have since been relegated due to me now creating new models for Men of War. Ive decieded to release for the community to enjoy, its a mix and match affair so you will have to manual chose which skins to use, but I feel this enables the user to create his/her own personal mod, be it historically accuate if they want.

Here is the link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8CWOU95R

http://orriekm.net/downloads.php?page_id=73 - Courtesy if Orrie.

Includes Terms & Conditions + Installation notes.

Please if you want to use this mod within your own mod which you plan to release, please contact me for permissions.

Would love to see some GEM Videos containing the skins someday.

Thanks all,
Enjoy,
Sturm

the skins arent in a mod, they're just sitting in a folder, copy past them in to a mods resource/entity/humanskin folder and that'll allow them to be used.

I dont think the germans were too picky about uniforms when they stated losing...they had more important things to concintrate about

Zeke Wolff

When it came to uniforms, the Germans were indeed quite picky since no German Wehrmacht soldier wanted to wear the German Waffle-88 uniform when the Russians and the Allies were clearly going to win the war. Many German Waffle-88 soldiers were simply shot on the spot when caught by the Russians, and this is one of many reasons to why these troops simply fought to the bitter end.

I stand corrected...again... o_O

Boss, Hugo Boss! :ninja:

On-Topic:

Heer_Sturmfuhrer;

I must say that there are a lot of .PSD and unused .DDS files laying around all the skins.
Removing them would make the pack smaller, but its not that important.

The skins are quite very good, and I'm looking forward to your Mod. :yes:

Cheers Orrie, yeah i wasnt planning on releasing them until i was asked by jim, so i decided to do it on the spot - thus the reason for the hastily put together pack. Iam fully aware that these skins arent realistic, just more realistic in terms of general uniform design than what is avalible in Stock Men of War. I wasnt even 50% finished with the skin pack when i decided to start making new models and skins, I can guarentee however that the skins and models in my former modification will be correct to the time period and unit. That is the reason for taking so long.

Cheers

I guess it would benefit us both if you added my link to your 1st post, so people can use it instead of Megaupload or rapidshare, or whatever crappy host thats out there. ( Megaupload and Filefront is good at speed, but the they tend to delete the files, which I never will )

Rapidshare caps the download speed of non-paying users, and thats bad.

I didn't remove anything from the pack when I uploaded.
The size might trick you, but I compressed with 7zip, which has a mich higher compression ratio then WinRAR.

How do you unpack these skins? I've put them all in the entity file in resource and havent noticed any difference. Do the files go into the mod file?

FearedxRawr
18-02-2010, 17:26
It should be

mod/resources/entity/humanskins.

Is that what you've done?

~Feared.

private parts
18-02-2010, 20:17
What I have done is take all the files from each main file and put them all in enity. I've got me mod file but there is no other file within the mod file.

Do I have to put a recourses file within the mod file and entity/humanskins?

As my version of MoW is retail and might be different from steam.

Heer_sturmfuhrer
18-02-2010, 22:54
my directory for my latest mod reads : 1C\Men of War\mods\Realism Mod 1939-45\resource\entity\humanskin

Obviously change "Realism Mod 1939-45" to your own mod name and you should be good to go just add the folders of the skins in there.

P.s Thanks to everyone else for helping people out.

Sturm

FearedxRawr
18-02-2010, 22:57
Well,

Right click and select "New folder" name it "resource"
Then make another inside resouce called "entity"
then another one inside entity called "humanskin".

Now paste all the skin files into that. :)

~Feared.

Sturm you said you worked on the skins for CoH, your not the blitzkrieg mod guy by any chance?

Heer_sturmfuhrer
07-03-2010, 18:52
Unfortunately not, but I was working on my own CoH mod back in 2007 that had many thousands of views however I was banned and thus the project was never completed. I thus moved onto MoW in 2008.

FearedxRawr

Yes, I did mods.....

opps. I didn't add the "humanskin" folder. It works! Great skins! I'm using the "airborne" skins for my D-day air drops in Ste. Mere-Englise. :beer2:

Hey Sturm! It doesen't work for some reason. Can you tell me all the way where to copy these folders? I created a new folder in Mods folder. I named it Aaaaaaa. I created a folder named resource , entity and humanskin in this folder. Now I copied the skins into humanskin folder. When I launch mow.exe , I don't see my mod named Aaaaaaaa in the list to enable the mod. They aren't in the Editor too.

Dilust
06-10-2010, 18:24
You should add a mod.info file inside your Aaaaaaa folder.
Use notepad to create it. You should type this exact code:

{mod
{name "Aaaaaaa"}
{desc "Realism Skin Pack by Heer_Sturmfuhrer"}
}
Note that the folder name and the line name must be the same.

Now you should make great attention when you save the file: it must have an *.info extension. Select Save as... Select the option All files and type exactly "mod.info" without quotes.

Now the mod will be showed in the Mods menu. You should active this mod to use the skins in the editor.
