Purpose of this would be to see if someone from the Xfire "Exclusive testers" group is playing the game, or is about to, and also your other Xfire contacts could ask you which game is that, and you can point them in right direction to become a subscriber :)

Basically, what you do is make use of old MoW Beta Xfire slot that was played right before Men of War.

How to do it:

1. Go to your Assault Squad folder and rename its .exe to mow.exe

2. Go to Xfire -> Tools -> Options -> Games

3. Open the "Not installed" list

4. Select "Men of War Beta" in the list and on the right side select Manual Setup

5. Click "Browse" and point to Assault Squad folder.

After that click OK and you're set.

NOTE: After new Assault Squad Beta update, you would just have to rename the .exe file to mow.exe again.

See you ingame!

Or, an easier? way that only needs changes with this file:

xfire_games.ini

Its located:

Vista\W7 - C:\ProgramData\Xfire
XP - C:\Program Files\Xfire - (Depends on Xfire installation folder)

You can either modify the code yourself, or just overwrite the file with the added file longer down.

If you want to modify:

Search/find game parameter [5744] (CTRL + F , while using Notepad )
( You can also do the same method if you want to have Men of War Beta as the logged game, the game parameter is [5567] )

It should look something like this: (Except from whats written in red)

[5744]
LongName=Men of War
ShortName=mow
LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microso ft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{137D91E1-2347-4EAC-BB0B-

CC06C6B92A52}_is1\Inno Setup: App Path
LauncherExe=mow.exe
MatchExe=mow
Launch=%UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% %UA_LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS% %UA_LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS%
InGameRenderer=D3D9
InGameFlags=USE_PRESENT|ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_DINPUT_MO USE

Just add the line MatchExe=mow on the same spot you see in the quote.
Then, just either refresh the Xfire gamelist through Options->Games, or restart Xfire.

Now, whenever your running Mow.exe, mow_editor.exe, mow_assault_squad_mp.exe, Xfire-Ingame will be enabled.

The file:
Xfire_games.ini (http://orriekm.net/files/Orries%20Minimods/xfire_games.rar)

I've added Xfire support for outfront_mp.exe and mow_editor the way Orrie gave, but always when Xfire updates it looks like it deletes custom entries from the xfire_games.ini.

do a backup file called oldxfire_games.ini, then when xfire updated, open that file and copy and paste to new file.

You might change the file to read-only, but then again, you wouldn't be able to get the new games that the Xfire update adds.

Just fyi, I know most people are smart enough to do a search: current version of Xfire for XP has the xfire_games.ini in C:\Program Files\Xfire

Thanks for posting these tips.

I just guessed, as I don't have XP myself.

I shall change it

The only thing I know is that X-fire is going to be a Multi-IM client itself.
I think it supports AOL Messenger, Twitter and MSN Messenger right now.
