I have played with me in the editor.. at first I didn't understand the grid squares along the edges, but when I turned he Fog on, I was amazed! Great detail in the town and along the out skirts. Great map!

Obviously if the player is too lazy to download a map, he is not worth playing with.

After downloading it, Extract the map file to ....men of war/resource/maps.
Or you can extact it to the GEM Editor maps to test it out.

There is no maps folder in resource, so i made one. Still nothing, though. :huh:

Extract to:
Men of War\resource\map\multi\

If you do not have the map folder make it, and inside make another folder named multi and put the maps there.
Now it should come up in game and in the editor.

No game got Carentan right exept for Brothers in Arms.
If it was fullsize carentan..... well... 1000x1000 map would barely fit it.

Try recreating a 1.5x1.5mi city in the GEM Editor, that actually looks like it and well, is playable.


And by the way, who moved this topic to mod release section? This isn't a mod to be honest... just a simple map and fits better in the map section.

Which is the "map" file? There are many files with "map" as the filename.

A normal windows folder, it is in the resource folder inside the game's directory. If you do not have it, make it and put inside of that 2 more folders, one multi and other single, kind of self explanatory where each type of maps go there so... Hope it helps.

It's a well known fact, that without pics, less people will click.
And since the creator seems too incapable to post pictures, I will.

I don't know, this map is not like the real Carentan town, doesn't remind me of it any way.
I've also play tested it and it's really bad, laggy and not optimized at all, think it's too many trees actually that causing a lot of lag. This map really needs re-work, remove some trees so it flows smoother, otherwise it's unplayable. And calling it Carentan is just wrong imo, when it doesn't resemble anything from Carentan :P

Yeah, I just tried this with the AI, it was lots of fun, and I had no lag..
