Can we somehow "oversize" a map? Like take a smaller map and place it into a new large one? I would like to ask because I created a map which I like but it is a bit small. I want to extend it.

You can use your polygon tool to add more "terrain" to the map and to get it bigger.

Is that the real use for the polygon tool? I have no clue what it is for.

Well the tool can be used to add more of the grey "ground" material to make the map bigger.

When you select your size as for example 100x100 the grey area will cover that size, but you can freely add more with the polygon tool .. (as well as removing with a right click)

You can alos adjust the size of each polygon, the smaller the size the more detailed curves, but with the backside that it makes the map more demanding.

Dont know if i explained it as good as someone did for me.

Can I also import my map into a larger one?

You can select all entities and copy them, then open a new file and paste them.
However, i dont think that you can copy things such as terrains and textures.

Can a official dev confirm thiat

This is what myself has done during my mapping:

Opened a existing (official map)

Selected entities (such as a road) and copied it.

Then open my own map, and pasted it.. works very good as long as its not too many entities.

As the previous post suggested, try it.. :D

You can basically drag and mark everything on a map, hit CTRL-C, and then either make a new map or open another map and then with CTRL-V paste everything from the first map to the other map. However, the more entities etc that the first map had (and you copied) it will take a very long time before the stuff appears on the second map but they will appear sooner or later (it will feel like the editor isnt responding and you can“t do anything else but wait).

However, only entities, stamps etc will be copied, and not the actual map with hills, canyons, lake (the water entity will be copied though) and of course, nor will any textures.

I have to watch the size next time then when I start a map. What is the size of a large map? Like hunting? And what is the size of a frontline map?

You ever notice the Import/Export Heightmap map button?
