Last month (well, early in this month...but you get it) I was checking the endwar forums, and they didnt make it in the sales, there was a lot of people claiming that bad marketing was the cause. Also, I didn´t see any advertise on gamereplays or IGN, and as internet is now the Show room of games may cause the fail on sales.

Now, I´m really worried about men of war. I asked some users about it, as me, some users only found Faces of War as "the rival of CoH" and I decided to give it a chance. They also told me that they didn´t see any advertisement of SHOWW2 and Fow.

This game haves a lot of good material and very cool features... I don´t want the to "Vanish" into other strategy games of the WW2. Is DMS advertising or going to advertise Mow in some mayor gaming websites?

Where I will find the Mediterranean front, the pacific front, the western front and the "ost" front togheter?

It will most likely be like the IL-2 Sturmovik series, haven't seen one advert myself yet the game is very popular amongst the right people. I believe that if MoW is up to scratch, it will make itself known in the right community.

Adverts and promotion surely wouldn't hurt, but they aren't cheap. And most russian games happen to be on the budget side of things :shady:

They should ad this game like CoH

you are talking about MoW being produced to "certain kind of players" (That sounds perfectly right with the complex mechanics)?

I've tried to make thread in forums I've been members on to get people to see Faces of War/Men of War.
The first time I saw Faces of War was in fact the E3 trailer that I got on a disc that followed with PC Gamer :realbig: .

But yeah, advertising haven't been state of the art, like many other "popular" games.
Easiest way is to get Online Magazines to set their eyes on the game, and they write a article/preview.

I've already sent an E-Mail to www.gamer.no (http://www.gamer.no) about the game, so I hope they write something.
They usually often write about CIS games and many games made by Unknown Developers or Newcomers.

Just wait and see, Men of War ain't coming out before February they say, Friday The 13th! :sad2:

One thing that does not help is the post-poning effect.
This game was schedule for September (remember!). I did some mouth-to-mouth advertising including other forums wish i believe to be one of the best advertising medias. But that was for the beta :ouch: and them for the September :ouch: release.
This time i will stay put until we get a date carved in stone -wish by the way as not yet been posted.

PS: Empire Total War was pushed to late March so February is free :) DoW2/ CoH2 or even ToW2 are wall for 2 half so..there's a good window of opportunity to increase the fan base.

Who wants realistic strategy will find ... MoW.

Players who admire "World in Conflict", a game where you have a "life bar" and unit is destroyed when bar reaches level 0 :brickwall: ... can stick to those kind of games.

Advertising would be a great boost for the series. A few full page ads, some tele-adverts and people will take interest in it. I had never even heard of S-HoWWII before finding it by accident in a $5 bargain bin in 2004. I assumed it was an old game and was surprised it was brand spanking new. The proprietor said it wasn't moving at all as a product so he decided to clear it off his shelves. The best $5 I ever spent that's for sure. The only reason I preordered FoW was because I knew it was coming out. Otherwise I probably would have missed it like I did the original. But that turned out to be the biggest waste of funds I have ever spent on a game in over 25 years of gaming and that includes shoving quarters into the machines at the arcades. And at the local Best Buy I found it too had made its way into the bargain bin a few short weeks after it debuted. After all how many people take the chance and buy a game they haven't heard of?

So...to the developers and publishers...... Expend just a little dough out there for advertising this time 'round!!!!!

MoW is going to need more better and noticeable advertisement,
sense i never saw one for the predecessor and i also accidently found
the heroes of world war II. I really took great interest in this franchise
after that.

I guess CoH is trying to squeeze on the same idea that these two
previous games are based on, hopefully MoW will be great success
with the aid of many fans and kick the CoH right in the teeth. :ouch: :whip:

if theres Pilot missions(like germans and FW or Allies and Flying fort)then yes but MoW should advertise like CoH

I agreed with all of the above. It would be great for this game to get alot of heavy advertising. The more poeple that see it and play a demo the more will be online later. The mods for S:HOWW2 and FoW made the shelf life of both games go for years.

In saying that its always easy for us to sit back and talk but I am sure theres a budget and alot of work involved to achieve all of this. I guess the best thing we can all do is get the word out there ours selves. The more friends everyone gets invovled the better the more the game will spread! :toast:

I didn't see any advertising for FoW... i found it when searching for CoH expansions or games similiar to CoH. Stumbled into a forum where players mentioned FoW as like "CoH on steroids". Decided to check out FoW and since i discovered FoW i have totally forgotten about CoH and have no interest in that game anymore.

one thing i have noticed is the amount of people who are joining this forum is huge compared to when the forum was more for faces of war, also if you look at the ammount of people playing the beta compared to people playing faces of war, it looks to me as if faces has all but died and men of war is the new king of WW2 games regardless of advertising, the simple fact as was pointed out earlier in this thread about il2-sturmovic having little or no ads but still its one of the best selling flight sims i feel applies to MOW as well, if the game is truly great(which i feel it is) then word of mouth will spread through different mediums like the net and sales will rocket :!: :!:

and by the way everyone company of heroes is just the board game "risk" with a few bells and whistles added to make it look pretty :grandpa:

do not offend coh, is an good game by it´s way, his aproach and the MoW aproach to the WW2 are different.

By my part, I´m advertising this game with the links and guide to download the beta and I´m posting a Preview based on the Beta, hope you like it

FoW usually has at least double the amount of players online.. im still playing FoW everyday due to the lack of players on the MoW beta.

There are still many that play Faces of War, but mostly Russians.
I haven't played Faces of War in months (Maybe a year!)
