Hi, just wondering wether its me or are the tripods on the Nations Heaavy machine guns (Mg32, Browning e.t.c) a bit too tall, i.e the operators have to stand up thus exposing themselves alot. Here is a screenshot of the German MG34 machine gun with tripod>http://i37.tinypic.com/v744yb.jpg

I relise that the sandbags avalible in-game offer suffice protection to soldiers prone or crowched thus begs the question why these are no bipods/tripods that are crouch height specifically designed for defence on sandbags. Although their are situations that require the operator and Machine gun to be standing up, it looks slightly out of place when all other soldiers are prone and then you get the MG which stands out like a sore thumb.

Another question was wether or not the devolpers have any plans to include the Russia maxim 1910 machine gun within the USSR army. I would much prefer this more common, well know weapon to replace the current Russia HMG as it would be alot better suited to Russian Combat tatcics of ww2 (i.e urban enviroments) as well as the fact that this machine gun has an extremely fast set-up rate giving the Russians an advantage in-game. Here a screenshot of the Weapon in question>http://www.landships.freeservers.com/jpegs/russian_m1910_hmg_1.JPG

One last question was wether the developers have considered changing the Skins of the US and UK special forces to something more historically appropriate. For example the German paratroopers obtain their correct uniform however the American special forces in my opinion should then therefore represent the American Airborne (101st/82nd) as well as the British special forces being represented by the Paratroopers/SAS/Desert Rats/Commandoes in stead of using the same skin texture as the standard infantry/SMG gunner.

Thanks for reading.

If I remember it correctly, so is the USSR version of the Maxim machine gun already added in MoW. I am pretty sure that I´ve seen it on some screenshot somewhere on a Russian site.

I agree, the tripod should be something like this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bundesarchiv_Bild_183-B00456,_%C3%9Cbung_des_Regiments_Gro%C3%9Fdeutschl and,_am_MG_34.jpg)
However the ingame tripod is armored from the front so it should be taken into consideration. The ingame one is better against infantry (if shooting from behind sandbags) but the one on wikipedia site would be preferred for ambushing thanks to lower profile (and on flat terrain, harder to hit). Thus pretty situational.

Ambushing tanks?
With an MG? Well that's an interesting concept.
Anyways, the real Laffette would be much preferred to this imaginary tripod and besides, cover can be made for the prone tripod like the new one as well. The only difference is that it doesn't look as fake as walls of sandbags all over the place :P

I have the Russian Men of War, and the Maxim is in it. I can provide you with a screenshot of it tomorrow if you like.

And I also think the tripods are placed too high up. I think the vast majority of machineguns on tripods were closer to the ground, so the machinegunner could lie down -which offers better cover- and gun down his enemies.

Rafo beat me to it, but I can mention that it is only available in singleplayer/co-op by default, and to move it you only need one man to drag it, which makes it easier to transport than the machineguns on tripods. However, you will need to turn it an awful lot in close combat shooting.
