Everytime I play MoW I become more and more frustrated with the infantry, I figured I'd voice my opinions and see what everyone else thinks.
-Realistic Infantry squads, by allowing us to create each squad. Infantry should be bought one soldier at a time, and the only way to put them in a squad should be with ctrl+1-0, that would they would stay in the squad even if I clicked a single unit. You should definitely be able to select multiple infantry without putting them in a squad.
-Rifles shouldn't suck.
- More Unique/Human behavior. Like taking cover because of fear, or randomly choosing between long or short burst.
-Mortar should break extremely easily, at least from normal grenades.
-Infantry are mighty expensive for how vulnerable they are. To balance that, there shouldn't be a time limit on normal infantry/ squads.
- A Cautious Move/ Crouched move is really easy to add, and has been being suggested for 4 years.

Big Thumbs up !! :toast:
I really dont like the squad system at all. Handling sucks.
So why dont use a system proven by many other games.
Select each man alone, bulding groups only by Ctrl Groups.
That would be a real great change towards already established behavior, compatibilty and easier handling of units...
Yes, the squad bug contaminate the game feeling.

I also think Men of War's infantry is lacking, having only watched the squads.set, but purchasing one soldier at a time would by no means be a solution; imagine how frustrating it would be having to click on the purchase icon several times over. Instead, there should be more realistic squads. There should at least be a rifleman squad with 1 unterofficer armed with a SMG, 1 machinegunner and 6 men armed with the standard rifle of the army in question for each side.

They could change the way you buy normal infantry to an enqueue style, as in the menu doesn't close when you click a unit, instead it queue's one up. When you have all of the infantry you want queue'd there would be a "OK" button to finalize it.

I like SS-Kommando's idea of having better squads to be able to select...not so sure about building the squads one at a time as first suggested.
It does annoy me that you can only select up to 8 people though...maybe the ability to group squads with a senior officier that would lead more that 1 squad?
I will put my suggestions for infantry.
First, annulate all infantry timers. So, you can buy at once, like 3 rifle squads and send them to overrun the opponent. Generally, if you plan to make infantry weak, then atleast give them mass.
Second, more punch to riflemen, also more accuracy.
Third, more scattered move is in order, right now they run in what could be described as clusterf*ck :(
Fourth, make rifle squads more realistic and numerically superior than smgs, like suggested before - 1 mg, 6 rifles, 1 officer (but with smg and more field-looking uniform)
Fifth, a pair of binoculars to Scout, and a bigger line of sight for him, also in case of Germans add him supressed Luger.
Sixth, rework the use and effect of cumulative charge weapons - Bazookas, Pzschrecks, pzfausts and so on.
Right now firing them looks pretty stupid and should utilize the Fow spin system but not so exagerated. And they shouldnt fly out from the barrel and fly straight to side :P And an explosion is due once they make contact - currently they just sparkle. Also, the wound on the armor shouldnt look like its from a friggin' cannon - more closer is the AT rifle scar. HEAT charge burns a small hole, and the explosion happens from inside. Explosion from it would dissinfect the tank, leaving it without crew and tearing the inside apart, if penetrated. Pay a little attention to that, please :)
Seventh - submachine gunners should be a bit faster and with more health than riflemen.
Generally, settings from Beta 1 were excellent - why changing them?

I do like the idea of an officer, 6 riflemen and a machinegunner for a rifle squad, seems to make a lot of sense. I haven't played MoW yet so I can't comment on how useless infantry are at the moment.
