I am sorry if this is a tired question, but I am a huge fan of SHOWW and only tried the demo of FOW when it first came out. The demo to me seemed like an episode of the A-Team from the 80's where tons of bullets were flying everywhere but the potency of them seemed less powerful than SHOWW where it seemed that every bullet counted. I have read in a few places that the demo is different. Is this true? I know the price of a copy is pretty decent now, and I'll probably pick up a copy just for the hell of it. I was just wondering what you guys thought, or if I have been just full of smoke.....

Thrilled to see this MOW game moving forward....It looks fantastic. All of these games are on one of the most beautiful game engines I have ever seen.

Edit: Sorry I meant to put this on the General Discussion for MOW

If you get it under 20 bucks, its more than a bargain. But, it'll eventually keep you wanting for more.

Perhaps you should join the MoW beta which is due... soon (Right Instinct? :baseball: )...

Anyhow, my personal opinion is that the best things about FoW are mods, coop and map editor. Those are only things interesting to me.

In my opinion, a very good way to kill the time till MoW Beta /i have that eerie feeling there will be plenty of time to it

Cheers :beer2:

cth11, an excellent question! Here (UK) you can get FoW on Amazon Marketplace for around £3 ($6) and still I hesitate...! I bought it when it was new and was very disappointed so sold mine back on Amazon while it was still worth a bit more than it is now. I may get it again; as HrcAk47 says the mods should make it interesting and there is one that is supposed to improve the SP game. I have replied to a thread on that recently hoping someone will respond to confirm that. Otherwise, I have collected around 30 mods for Soldiers that keep me happy!

Thanks for the replies. I actually did eventually pick up a copy. I bought a brand new one for $2.00 + $6.00 shipping. I received it two days ago and I have say that I think I really got a steal. Its been so long sing I have played SHOWW that I am going through the training tutorials right now. I have forgotton how fun this is.

Question: what exactly is the difference between the tactics mode and the arcade mode? Is there a difference in round accuracy and damage realism? I am currently playing in arcade mode.

Also, anyone know where to get this possible single player mod?

Really glad I found this forum.

Chuck

Have a look under the Mod Release section, this thread: Improved_SP_Campaign v1.0

I haven't looked at the download links but I assume they work.

I didnt want to make a new topic so I ask this here. How can I enable fog of war in Faces of War single player? I have chosen tactical-difficulty but no sight of it on any mission - I see now all units in map. I dont find a switch in settings for fog of war. I use version 1.04.1a. Please help, thanks. :)
